Still struggling with the parry system, I'm not typically great at split second timing but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it by gauging it on the audio queues.

I don't generally play soulslikes, but this feels like the complaints I heard about Lies of P; big, slow windups followed by ridiculously fast attacks where the contrast makes them very hard to judge.

I don't mind that the system exists, but I wish it was a little more forgiving. I ended up putting it on easy because I just don't have the time, patience or reflexes to git gud at something like this.

Yeah I was debating just putting it on story mode because it is kinda silly how small the window is when you can get 1 shot by the first boss.

I'm not that far in, but story mode is kinda too easy. Like, standard enemies doing single digit damage easy. I guess that's okay though since I still can't hit the dodge window reliably.

Theres a mod out that makes the parry timings easier for all difficulties

That was fast. Unlike my reflexes.

Good stuff though, I feel like I wouldn't mind meatier hits if they were easier to dodge. I'll give this a try when I get home from work.

The timing on the parrying is my biggest complaint about the game so far. It feels way too late to me.

The different parry mechanics have different timings, too. Some feel like they need to be early, and others feel like they need to be late.

Is this the new game chud gamer treatlerites are getting pissed about for having a black person in it?

It's even more blatant racism than normal because it would be historically incorrect if there were no black people in a belle epoque France setting. Paris literally had a black mayor in 1879.

Yeah, although from what I could tell it was just one dip shit that complained about it and people latched onto it.

Sometimes I feel like the visual queues are a better gauge for dodge/parry. Some enemies have a super easy audio queue that the sound goes and you push the button to win, but enemies like Luster when they do the anime dash slice I feel like the best time to parry is when their arms point forward since I don't notice much with the sound

definitely the first game I want to try after an upcoming hardware upgrade

I don't play a ton of turn based games anymore but it's very well done from the few hours I've played so far and the music is gorgeous.

Is that her? Is that Clair Obscur? I'll take your word for it, I can't really see her face from this angle.
