The White House on Friday morning launched a new website championing the theory that the coronavirus that causes Covid-19 was a manmade pathogen that leaked from an infectious disease laboratory in Wuhan, China.

The federal website Covid.gov, which previously linked to information about vaccines, testing and treatment, now redirects to the White House’s lab leak website.

I can't believe that I am witnessing this happening in real time.

At this stage, The onion should fact check The White House to make sure that they are real.

Just wow.

That article says that a House Republican-led subcommittee came to that conclusion based on shakey evidence at best, made several other unfounded claims unrelated to the origin, and was criticized heavily by House Democrats. Their main piece of evidence was the Wuhan lab experimenting with distantly related COVID variants.

I would not call that "confirmed".

Regardless of the origin, Trump still fucked up response, both before it became a problem and after it got to the US. At this point I don't care where it came from, because the ones that are absolutely natural that are occurring around us now (or again, like with measles) will be faced by the same idiot that put a match to gasoline before.
