I did a concrete pour that lasted 34 hours straight once. I feel like talking for that long was probably easier. Now did it achieve anything?

The shape of Booker's 2028 presidential dream is the issue that affects every other issue.
goddammit, it had been YEARS since I even thought of that jibberish Mayo Pete blathered.
About once every couple months - apropos of nothing I think about this.
It always makes me laugh.

Mayo Pete is such an evil dork ghoul. I'll never get over the fact he actually had a plan for Medicare For All Who Want It. Can you fucking beat that?
'Just The Right Policy': Pete Buttigieg On His 'Medicare For All Who Want It' Plan
2019/11/08/
I mean that's a public option, right? Passing it would have made Mayo Pete a more consequential president than Obama.
I mean that's a public option, right?
Oh, you got me there.
"We make sure that everybody can afford [public health insurance], but we don't require you to take it. And partly I think that's just the right policy, because I think people should be able to choose," Pete Buttigieg said.
Every time a dem offers up a "choice" - it's a choice between bad and worse.
Passing it
In some alternate universe he became president and he did pass Petecare. I'm sure it was a huge hit - with the healthcare industry.
You absolutely had a far more material effect on the world.
Yes you actually materially improved the world. Corey Booker just wasted air and his and our time.
Hey now, Cory Booker took that one record from Strom Thurmond, which is neat. I was gonna say that he gets to be in kids' history books in the future, but we all know he won't get mentioned because to do so would be dei.
Strange. My landlord still isn't at the bottom of a mineshaft.
More like in a landfill
What a nice song. Thank you
fills me with hope to see signs of life even in the burgerreich
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
man says "how dare you sir" more than anyone in history
What the fuck was he giving a speech about for 27 hours?
I’d run out of communist talking points within an hour flat.
3rd hour and I would have absolutely nothing left in my brain, and you’re telling me this fucking corporate lib said something remotely relevant for 27 fucking hours?
I'm in no way saying it's easy and I think ~3 hours would be about my absolute limit for me too even if I had a horde of speechwriters at my beck and call. Not only am I not a talker - I've grown to hate talking. But I assume a few things about Booker's effort.
-
He's been planning this effort for at least weeks. Probably months. And he knew he'd have to speak for more than 24 hours to beat Thurmond. Beating Thurmond's record was vital for him.
-
He had his speechwriters, aides, etc break his effort down into hour long chunks or whatever. And then they wrote out huge amounts of text. I bet all he did was editing.
-
Booker practiced a lot on structuring the content.
-
Like a talented standup comic - he practiced a lot on the delivery. He needed to make his delivery seem alive and not canned. Booker made his practiced stuff seem improvised. As much as I loved Robin Williams - fantastic timing and deceive people into thinking the performer came up with it on the spot. Williams was a brilliant performer and fantastic at improvisation but he had lot of go-to canned material. Why do stunts without a net?
-
[Etc.] I'm certain if by tomorrow I could have at least three more list items.

I googled for a transcript. Google found nothing. I'm sure at least AI transcripts exist. They must. Google is such garbage.
you missed one:
- he smoked some meth and popped a few addies beforehand
Did his channel not archive the stream? No idea is its would have a 27 hour long transcript.
His Youtube channel? - https://www.youtube.com/@senbooker/videos
It only has snippets. And I assume even if the entire speech was available - there would be no human edited transcript. And all that would be grabable is Youtube's closed captions. And those are very ugly even for a ~5 minute vid.
I saw a comment that the speech will eventually be in the congressional record. At first that cheered me but then I realized it will surely be a fucking pdf and I hate those with a passion.
Yeah that's annoying. I can't remember if YouTube still has that live issue where it dies after 24 hours, then you have to restart it. I can't remember if that limits archiving it.
You could check C-SPAN. They would have a machine transcription I think.
This is exactly the sort of thing that AI is supposed to do. I know it was dumb - but I asked Copilot to give me a transcript. It said the speech likely had a copyright. So I told Copilot to fuck itself and give me a transcript. And then it told me to be polite and repeated the same shit it gave me before.
~~Google~~ Microsoft junk reprimands you if you are rude to it? Oh man my bashin hand is itchin'
Google junk
Ahem. Microsoft junk.
At one point he was just reading letters from constituents.
Im mean I do have enough pointless knowledge to talk for hours upon hours .....but at that point I woukd have to talk about stuff like Elden Ring lore to the audience.
Did people actually sit there for 27 hours? He didn’t go to the bathroom once? Or like drank water?
Catheters are a somewhat common practice for filibustering
what the fuck what the fuck
Performative masturbation is performative.
Who doesnt love a good jerk off sesh?
If he had done that for 27 hours straight i would have been way more impressed
Cory Gooner
All you have to do is speak to be a hero you never once have to actually act
Diehard Politico (2025)
Summary: In this gritty, non-stop thrill ride reimaging of Diehard John McClane is an American Democratic Senator. To beat the bad guys and win the day John uses the parking garage of the Nakatomi Building as his strategic base. He stays in the limo and livestreams...
And this isn't your average lib hero. This is the top of the heap! This guy will go on lib Mt Rushmore
Saw a poc on TikTok comparing this to Rosa parks and Malcom X. Such a tough one for me because I’m white as fuck, but like even I know Malcom x wouldn’t applaud this like some of them are claiming
Puts me in such an uncomfortable spot because a lot of these people will weaponize their blackness to shame you for not signaling loyalty to the DNC
As a non-white, I give you the approval to shit on this silicon valley tech backed ghoul (yup, he's backed by the worst of American capital).
Puts me in such an uncomfortable spot
I'm white too. If you sincerely believe you're being honest with yourself and you're being honest to the world - it's all good.

In a coincidence - I saw this Bluesky post just ~2 minutes ago where the poster indirectly compares Booker to MLK Jr.
People are out here underestimating the power of speeches like “I Have a Dream” wasn’t a speech. Staawp it. You look silly. Speeches have the power to move people—that’s why they want to bully people into silence, and that’s why we’re going to be louder than ever.

Gimme a break. I'm 100% certain Booker gave that speech for a possible 2028 presidential run. All the DC democrats are self-serving, arrogant jerks.
Ooh say can you see? Liberal democracy...
