A 0.38 tip size of No.5

[–] BoxOfFeet@lemmy.world 1 points 20 minutes ago

If I HAVE to use a ballpoint, it's going to have to be a rollerball. Like the Uniball. But really, I'd take just about any fountain pen over any of them.

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 1 points 24 minutes ago* (last edited 23 minutes ago)

cant go wrong with the BIC pen. #1 is not as good but very satisfying to use, strong contender.

[–] DicJacobus@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

I dont see any on here I would swear by.

I have taken a liking to the Pilot B2Ps, they are made of recycled water bottles, I liked them simply for the fact that they're the one type of pen we have in abundance at the office that no one else bothers to steal for some reason.

I like the Staples TRU RED series too.

what the hell is wrong with me, a year ago I'd be obsessing over some video game or hobby and now im discussing my pen model preferences, I think I've crossed the proto-boomer threshold

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 1 points 41 minutes ago

They call it the "Precise V7", but the ink makes it anything but. I think make it out of ground-up neutron stars.

But that's why I like them. The writing's no good if it doesn't bleed a little.

[–] Jhuskindle@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

Give me that smooth 5

[–] Wanpieserino@lemm.ee 3 points 2 hours ago

3, it's the easiest to activate and handle

[–] Redex68@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago

Definitely 5, so much better than 99% of other pens.

[–] CptEnder@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Uni Mitsubishi .38 I want it too feel like I'm stabbing the paper when I write

[–] onefortheGhost@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Does it also come in 9mm? I feel like .38 is a bit underpowered.

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 1 points 26 minutes ago

No, but they do have a 30/30 version

[–] helloworld55@lemm.ee 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

This one right here by zebra: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6VIUPS

By far my favorite pen

[–] Jtskywalker@lemm.ee 2 points 1 hour ago

I prefer the F-701 personally but yeah, any Zebra pen over the ones in the op

[–] rishado@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

Where the fuck are the Zebra pens

[–] peteypete420@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 hours ago

5 has the ink i use, the g2 whatever. But I use it in the fat Dr. Grip pen, cause of my old hands.

[–] WordBox@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago
[–] frezik@midwest.social 10 points 8 hours ago

Pilot G2 if I must, but the real answer is a Lamy Safari.

[–] jumbonipples@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

Paper mate inkjoy’s have been my go to after g2’s and sharpies had defective ones in the packs I bought.

[–] galaxia@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 hours ago

Where is my Sakura 03 micron??? 🥲

"Charlie, ever played roulette?"

[–] webpack@ani.social 1 points 7 hours ago

must be a clicky pen so I can click

[–] captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works 21 points 15 hours ago

Pilot G-2, Obviously. #5.

[–] fmstrat@lemmy.nowsci.com 3 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

The real question: Is that Pilot G7 a 0.10 or a 0.07? Very different pens. 0.7 ftw

[–] xorollo@leminal.space 1 points 8 hours ago

pilot g-tec 0.4

[–] Denjin@lemmings.world 3 points 10 hours ago

Those special pens I learned to write with at school

These are all terrible

7

[–] Nalivai@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

3 or 5 was always my goto. That being said, I didn't have to write anything by hand in the last 15 years, and I'm pretty much forgot how it's done

[–] krasny@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I write a lot (I am professor) and pilot g-2 (#5) is the way to go. Don't be fooled by sharpie's grip, I just finished a box of that model in red ink and g-2 is way better.

[–] BigBrainBrett2517@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

Hear, hear!

[–] Pulptastic@midwest.social 1 points 8 hours ago

2 but never black. Red or green are best.

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (1 children)

5

I would pick 3 but I don't think its ball point and I have trouble controlling the strength when I press down on the paper.

[–] Grimtuck@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

I used 5 once and I ended up buying a pack of 10 as they were so good to write with.

[–] pfr@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)
[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

I love Bic but those particular ones have never done well for me.

[–] Wetstew@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago

2 or 3.

I use to love G2's, but they fell off. I found a sharpie pen a while back and was shocked by how well it wrote, it's now my goto.

[–] tyler@programming.dev 6 points 15 hours ago

anyone voting G2 hasn't used one recently, or hasn't used literally any other pens in that time. I think the G2 is the absolute worst one on the list. At least the bic doesn't pretend to be able to write very well.

[–] niktemadur@lemmy.world 13 points 18 hours ago

The day I first gripped a #5, had there been clickbait thumbnails back then, mine would have read:
This Changes EVERYTHING!

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago)

I have several boxes of Uniball Eco. The ink dries fast enough lefties can write without smearing. Also it looks sleek and professional.
