At what point does this kind of behavior become criminal negligence?

remains opposed to the MMR vaccine, citing perceived risks
Pray tell what risk is going to be worse than death?
Even let's pretend the ridiculous allegations that vaccines cause autism is true, this just means they believe "better dead than disabled", which definitely calls to mind the "involuntary euthanasia" /mass murder of disabled people in Nazi Germany.
"Heartless cunt says she's happy her daughter is dead."
Fixed the title for you.
After all, their child was merely killed by a completely preventable disease, but the vaccine could have done anything! It could have even killed their child! ^/s^
Yeah its like one in five. can easily get a replacement within a year. I mean its like they say. whatever kills you will only make you stronger. oh and shes happier with god or some other bullshit.
I don't think the child would agree with mom here.
The family belongs to a Mennonite community
Well, yeah...
They're an extremist religious cult...
They don't think their kid is dead and gone, they think "Sky Daddy called our angel home".
This is what happens when people are convinced reality doesn't matter because they have eternity in the afterlife.
And yet they won't fuq off there themselves!
Like the other person said, what seperates them from regular death cults is rules against suicide.
Like, my mom's just regular crazy Christian. She's been ready to go for over a decade and would be happy about it. But if she takes direct action to die, she goes to the bad place.
So like, during COVID she was leaving the house more than pre-Covid, just intentionally doing dumb shit because putting yourself in a dangerous situation where you might die...
Still isn't direct action
People that want to die, are willing to die over literally anything, are incredibly dangerous for a society.
They'll pull a gun because you waited too long at a green light and be 100% ok dying in a highspeed shootout. Because as long as they don't kill themselves, they believe they're going straight to heaven
That's the reason churches made suicide a sin that'll send you to hell. Close up that loophole real quick
Convenient, isn't it? Tell everyone, hey there's this really cool place you go if you die, but only if you die on our terms!
This couple is truly living in the 1800s.
Yeah it's sad our kid died of disease, but the other 4 made it so it's okay
Hopefully this stupidity is self limiting. It's too bad that it's not the parents getting sick and dying instead of innocent children.
parents are older and probably vaccinated.
Just a numbers game. Monstrous. Now that's what you call "someone who should have never become a parent!"
"Wasn't that bad"?? I mean... the kid died. What falls under bad if not that? Zombification?
No they’re Mennonite, I’m pretty sure they worship a zombie.
Antivaxxers are adopting rabbit tactics to continuing their bloodline. Pump out enough kids and some will survive.
Adapting? That's the history of humanity, not some new concept.
It also has a scary list of long-term adverse effects, so her surviving kids aren’t out of the woods yet.
Yup. Their immune systems are wiped clean for the next 2-5 YEARS, meaning they have no protection against anything EXCEPT Measles, so they'll be getting sicker, more often, for longer periods, and recovery will be harder. On top of that, because it's fucking Measles, there's now a nonzero chance they just don't wake up one day because the mutated virus causes their nervous system to swell and their brain to crush itself in their skull (nearly 100% lethal). Measles is NASTY, and now these dipshits are gonna experience that first-hand.
I feel heartbroken that the baby died from the measles solely due to anti-vaccine measures, as the mother said, "it's not that bad" regarding the measles. I wish I could take action... It seems unfair to me. Vaccines are a significant advancement in our scientific healthcare; they are tested and developed based on scientific evidence and knowledge. All of my siblings and both of my parents are absolutely safe because we strictly emphasize and are aware that vaccines are there to protect us from diseases.
God gave us vaccines. Voilà problem solved. Oh and god made sure we had enough blood to share with others. For the Jehovah's crowd.
Corrected the ducking autocorrect.
I shared my thoughts out of empathy for the child and the importance of science-based healthcare. I believe conversations like these should be about raising awareness, not turning it into a sarcastic jab at others’ beliefs or tragedies.
I do have empathy for the child and even the parents. I put the blame on religious leaders. I merely gave a way out for said leaders to save face while saving lives. Band now I see typo that might explain your reaction. I corrected it.
What could possibly be worse?
I hope this decision haunts these people for the rest of their lives. I know they won't publicly speak out ever, likely to save face and toe the line in their community. But when they lay their heads down at night, I hope they are truly ashamed of their failure as parents.
I hope this decision haunts these people for the rest of their lives
It won't. They've already justified it to themselves and moved on. Disgusting.
They say no parent should ever have to bury their child.
Not them. No, those monsters deserve it. The rest of their children too.
The children don't deserve to die because of their parents.
Maybe reserve the word monsters for the real deal and not the watered down definition you are aiming for.
You sound like a shitty person so far. Maybe just a bad morning?
