Neoliberalism is dead. We are at a fork in the road. One way leads to neo-feudal fascism, the other towards socialism.

The reactionaries want to return the status quo they enjoyed. They will not accept that there is no going back. Dem leadership playing soft with Trump is a signal of which side they are choosing.

The Democrat party claims they want to be a big tent party, but they're doing a piss poor job of getting a majority of voters to come into their tent.

Big tent with a paid VIP section in the back.

The adjective form of 'Democrat' is 'Democratic', not the stupid and grammatically incorrect form Republicans decided to push in the late 2000s.

[–] TheDemonBuer@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I intentionally use the grammatically incorrect 'Democrat' party because the adjective democratic is not an accurate description of the party's values and ideals.

Democratic means "of, characterized by, or advocating democracy," with democracy of course being a government by the people, or government of which the people are the ultimate authority. The Democrat party are NOT advocates for such a government. They want a neoliberal technocratic government. To call the Democrat party "democratic" is a vile lie that I absolutely will not help to perpetuate, grammar be damned.

So you're just doing the same thing Republicans do and using the exact same dumb justification.

[–] TheDemonBuer@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't know what the Republicans' reasoning is, and I don't care. I know what my reasoning is, and I just explained it. I really don't care if you think it's dumb.

Yeah, sure, you just happened to come up with the exact same petty mannerism they've been doing for 15 years with the exact same reasoning and somehow claim you're not only not copying it, but never even knew they did it.

somehow claim you're not only not copying it, but never even knew they did it.

I never said that I didn't know that many Republicans also refer to them as the Democrat party. I was aware of that. I, however, never cared to find out what their reasons for doing it were, because, as I've already stated, I don't care. They may do it for the same reason I do, I don't care. I don't care what the Republicans think, and I don't care what you think.

Can you guys stop complaining on Lemmy and get together a labor party. Any day now would be great.

It's hilarious that they still consider "bipartisan progress" a useful frame. The only direction trump and co are progressing is towards solidifying fascism. Compromising with that is just helping them.

They need to help Trump make things worse so next election they can push an even more establishment candidate that won't have to run on anything other than anti-MAGA, but that will end up keeping many of the Elon Trump changes.

[–] naught101@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

That approach won't win them an election, because it will inspire no one to actually get out to vote. If they do that they will never be elected again.

Biden was elected on the Basis of opposing Trump. Instead of holding him and his crownies accountable, he chose to go for "healing" and "moving on". Just that he moved on with many Trump policies and added his own genocide support on top.

[–] timewarp@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

It was pretty obvious that proud Zionist Biden, VP of O'bomb ya (with a drone), who voted for the Iraq war & then lied about it, wasn't going to be a Bernie Sanders.

Late to the party again Democrats. I swear, it's only when the jackboots are on their necks do they even get out of bed.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The second amendment is the people’s check on tyranny. Us not fighting back is just as bad as the democrats putting their tails between their legs. I’m not saying shoot anyone what I’m saying is organize and fight back!

Shoot their wives with your seed & make Dem babies
