No, he is not a good father.
- Your entire post is about what he wants for his daughter, not about what she wants. She's an adult woman, not his property. Saying things like "let" her use his power, "let" her be owned, etc. indicates a mindset of control and undermining her autonomy.
- Look at his impact on her, not his intentions.
Caring about his daughter is not the same as being a good father, and enabling his behavior is not the same as being a good wife. But both of her parents have shown small indications that they can evolve.
ETA: Not sure why you replied four times to my comment, but I'm talking about his actions right now. I'm not talking about the past.
Ngl I just read some shit in the comics that totally ruin him but hes not wrong shes pregnant 5 pages later
This kid was flying out her window to fight crime at like 12 or younger? Naw shit him being a good father is being controlling, she doesnt listen normally
My point is she doesn't get to have agency when it comes to giving up her life for others when shes a teenager or younger, and obviously he has to push in that direction or shell just go and die as shown in episode 8
Cecil wouldve sent others in, they wouldve sacrificed like 10 heroes but conquest wouldve been taken down, since eve was there he didnt have to, teleports are instant
Yeah a teenager wants to go die for others obviously he should control his teenage daughter and not let her do that, she didnt grow out of her tendencies as she ages she still rushes to extremes and causes issues, his impact has been positive she literally is who she is because of him, without him shed have created more faulty structures since no one wouldve been stopping her in the first place.
While I certainly see where you're coming from, I disagree as well. At certain points in the series he outright rejects to his daughter using her powers at all. When Eve moves back in she makes concessions to not use her powers in the house to appease him. While I do think every parent would worry about their kids being involved in super hero stuff, I mean look at Mark's mom, Eve's Dad treats her like shit for just having powers and being weird. As Eve said in the show she just wants them to accept her for who she is, and the powers are a part of that. Think about the time she moved off into the woods and did more stuff for the environment and communities. It was a lot less dangerous than stuff she had done before and her parents didn't seem to be any more approving of her life style.
Argument could be made she knows shes immortal, but uh if that info got out because she was more risky and just let ppl kill her, eventually someone would just kill her in a way that doesnt activate her fight or flight lifting the mental block because theyd be aware of it
Bruh she ran away from home to goto africa/treehouse and only left a note, he was rigthfully mad, im not saying hes perfect, but not a bad dad. Like is instantly folding and catering to what she wants the right move here? He definitely should ignore her, shes about to cuss her dad out in his home, spoiled af.
I dont think eves faced any real punishment ever, you cant take something away from a molecule rearranger, she gets everyhting she wants whenever she want sit
In the books she goes to africa btw, while they changed that, they didnt change her dads reaction over it, she also is a teenager who runs away from home without a word, ppl just go well she has powers and is helping ppl, thats irrelevant, shes their daughter and not an adult
