Malice and incompetence are etched into the same side of a coin.

Yeah, there has been some serious awful news on my feed in reddit, but for example this has not come to my feed. Thanks...

they had nuked all the work email addresses and personnel files so they didn’t know how to get in touch

Jesus fucking Christ why are they straight up deleting their employee data.

Do these limp noodle minions think deleting swaths of data is the way to make the government run faster?

Like one of these gooners found his laptop ran better after he deleted the 2TB of porn filling up his hard drive and decided he found the magic sauce to "making the government run faster"?

Or is this all Elon in a k-hole frenzy?

We've basically hired someone to disassemble our car while we're driving it. The Republican party claims the goal is weight reduction so we can go faster, but Musk/Trump/etc.'s goal is for the car to break down irreparably. Any "backtracking" you see is so they can keep up the illusion that they have the same goal.

The goal is to permanently cripple the US government beyond repair.

This is them enforcing their agenda regardless of what the courts rule, because they can't effectively be ordered to put back data that physically no longer exists.

[–] rocket_dragon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

They could have made a backup for themselves and the courts would never know.

To just outright delete the data and not keep a backup for themselves is some kind of achievement in stupidity.

Like if the nobel peace prize was instead the nobel stupid prize for those special individuals that really push the envelope in doing something exceptionally stupid, nobel stupid prize 2025 to Elon's entire dweeb squad.

They could have made a backup for themselves and the courts would never know.

Sure, they could... but if it's worth hiding from the courts, why would they give up that secret for something as unimportant as nuclear security either?

[–] einlander@lemmy.world 13 points 18 hours ago

Or delete enough accounts to mask the the purposeful deletion of the data of an inside contact.

Do these limp noodle minions think

I'm gonna stop you right there, the answer is "no". They're mostly in it for the lulz.
