What?

You're stretching the hell out of "so many".

Most of those comments are about mosquitoes, or structural issues. No diet is going to change the windpipe and swallow pipe starting as one thing.

Like, fine, whatever, you're into a fad diet, that's fine.

But dude. C'mon. "So many"?

Many people have seen ectopic fat deposits in the airway resolve with a low carb intervention.

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, and?

That was what? One comment? Maybe I missed a second one, I dunno. But that's not at all the same thing as the rest of the comments about the windpipe sharing space with the food pipe being a problem, because choking due to fat deposits is (or was) the lowest cause of choking. In twenty years of dealing with patients that were choking risks, I never actually had one where that was the source of the risk.

It's shoehorned in malarkey. This post; I'm not necessarily anti carnivore diet in and of itself. Well, beyond it being as prone to zealotry and the adherents inserting it where it doesn't fit the way some vegans do.

Anybody that seriously thinks eating carnivore is going to magically change the underlying structure of the body is full of shit. And that's what the linked post and comments were about. I had to read every comment just to find a couple that might, tangentially be dietary rather than structural.

The post here is malarkey. "So many". It's meaningless hyperbole

[shrug] Right, the carnivore community isn't for you, i get it.

I also see what psud is saying about many people's complaints from that thread being based in metabolic dysfunction.

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

Look lemme go back and check the thread again, maybe I missed what you guys are seeing, but I saw next to nothing that is metabolic.

That's it.

That's the only section that mentions anything that's metabolic, and even that's barely metabolic the way the comment and thread address it.

There's literally zero other comments that are even tangentially metabolic. That's the third time I've scrolled through those comments. Every comment, not just top level.

They're talking about stuff like regenerating teeth and cartilage, separating the air passage from the digestive, and none of that can change because of metabolism. And it certainly can't change by switching diets.

Did you read the comments? Like, really here, if you didn't, that's okay I guess, but damn. There's no way anyone is so deluded as to think that eating any diet is going to magically regrow teeth, or move the trachea. And that's the majority of comments that aren't about mosquitoes. It isn't that big a comment section.

That's what I found indicated in the thread. Do I think this is a very strong parallel? No. But I see where psud is coming from

I see lots of things in the thread related to having metabolic syndrome, but explaining that to people requires lots of structure!

  • depression
  • cancer
  • vitamin c
  • ease of breathing
  • sickness recovery

Did I miss anything they were talking about?
