I read slop. Paranormal romance, YA type shit, scifi, whatever. But something fun I can engage my imagination with. Problem is they're usually ignorant as hell of real world shit so the whiplash can be a bit maddening sometimes. I need some polyamorous communist werewolf romance slop instead of them always being military or cops or some shit. I did ready the Iron Widow series a couple weeks ago and the second book, Heavenly Tyrant, is pure commie propaganda. So that was a nice change.

Huh, Heavenly Tyrant
The book is dedicated to Qiu Jin, Rosa Luxembourg, Thomas Sankara, Salvador Allende, and "others who came before, along with those who will come after".
Written by Xiran Jay Zhao (nice)
It's good. YA so temper your expectations, but it's good propaganda. The writing in the second book is better too, but ya gotta read the first one for the story to make sense.
gotta take a slop break for sure
I can endlessly doomscroll because I'm an absurdist, but I balance anything sociological or historical with nature and natural history. That's the real thing we've built man-made horrors beyond our comprehension on. All of those can be compartmentalised as human shit instead of Earth shit.
As a caveat though, nothing radicalises me more than being a naturalist.
Reading about fictional colonialism and imperialism >.>
You read about counterinsurgency.
The fuck is 'reading'.
That thing one sometimes does in-between posting
Reading smut.
Breaking : User struggling with baseness addiction
drugs and/or technical literature. I like to geek out on manufacturers specs for stuff I work on/install.
Usually light reading like Fantasy or comics. Maybe video games.
Usually if I'm reading something heavy I make sure to get up to play a little basketball or walk my dog. Some sun and fresh air always helps. Since it's the winter in the northern hemisphere I guess that option is less available but I think that just generally trying to go outside for a bit is helpful.
I like to read about the details and strategy of revolutionary movements. It's uplifting and useful. Reading Amilcar Cabral: A Political Life in Motion right now and loving it
Touching grass with friends or by myself.
Also, watching films.
I run out of new stuff on hexbear
Watch peak slop — UK Traitors
Me to my partner during traitors episode 1 - “why are you watching reality tv junk?”
Me to my partner during traitors episode 2 - “why did you start watching my favourite show without me?”
It really sucks you in lol they have it nailed
Occasionally working because I still need money to buy physical books. Sure, I can pirate a PDF on my phone or computer and then read, sure, but there is a special feeling about having an actual book of paper. Even better if it's a hardcover.
