This is losing, and yet somehow winning at the same time! Excellent... :-P

The artist had their own fun with this laser's path. 😌

[–] CustardFist 29 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I did. I hope I got it right. 😊

Would you mind explaining for those of us in the peanut gallery?

[–] CustardFist 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’ll let wikipedia do all the smart talkin’. I barely understand it myself. 😅

But isn’t it cute that a cat plays with a laser pointer in a fancy quantum mechanical experiment? 😍

Just so you know I'm using Sync for Lemmy and your image is no longer showing for me.

Oh…. Crap. 😕

Those two middle panels are splitters. A translucent mirror that allows half the laser to pass through and bounces half the laser onto a new trajectory.

Kitty did not provide PPE for his humans. :(

Cute comic, but for the unaware:

According to John Ciribassi, DVM, DACVB, the problem with laser pointers is that they lack an endpoint. Nothing is ever physically caught. Even if the cat is “successful,” there's no reward. Such pointless play, says Dr. Ciribassi, can cause some cats to develop a compulsive disorder.

Cats already have a behaviour disorder

Its why I usually put a prize in the room and when its over I point them toward it. A toy or a treat usually.

Ehh, they get the same thing "chasing" birds and squirrels outside a window, and they seem fine from that

Hah! In theaters now and not now.

My cat once set up a magnetic field “vacuum bottle” of super cold sodium atoms, shined the laser through it, and successfully slowed down the particles of light to a mere 38mph!
