He's saying what he needs to say to protect his country. If he doesn't fellate Trump's ego enough, Trump will destroy Ukraine's ability to defend it's self. He's going to swallow his pride and say what he had to say to save lives

You underestimate how petty Trump and Republicans are. I'm not taking about direct attacks. They could easily find ways to disrupt all the aid that's flowing into Ukraine, which they really on for defence.
