While making I came across this "concept"

Gotta respect the effort they put into this shitpost

[–] xlash123@sh.itjust.works 35 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It absolutely terrifies me that someone thought of this concept

[–] NakariLexfortaine@lemm.ee 29 points 1 year ago (2 children)

That's a Dahir Insaat concept. They frequently come up with some absolutely insane ideas, like the bed that can be triggered to drop into a "safety box" during an earthquake.

They have videos up on YouTube. They're a blast.

[–] Zron@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago

So instead of “the design is very human” it’s “the design is very capitalist”

[–] quinkin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

"safety box". That just sounds like burial without waiting for death.

[–] Shieldtoad@sh.itjust.works 62 points 1 year ago

Meanwhile in the UK

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 60 points 1 year ago (5 children)

People in Chicago have been doing this since the 1970s.

Scene from The Blues Brothers where Jake and Elwood are being chased by two police cars through an indoor mall, all parties involved causing untold amounts of property damage.

Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration, don't fall me now!

[–] bobs_monkey@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago

You told the penguin you'd go see her when you got out

[–] casmael@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Hey look - disco pants and haircuts

[–] __init__@programming.dev 8 points 1 year ago

This place has got everything!

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

The new Oldsmobiles are in early this year

[–] AFC1886VCC@reddthat.com 6 points 1 year ago

Absolutely love that movie. Not only is it hilarious, but the car chase scenes are just epic

[–] nUbee@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

"This place has got everything!"

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Do you have a Miss Piggy?

[–] SuddenDownpour@sh.itjust.works 33 points 1 year ago (1 children)

QUICK, delete this before an executive with brainrot decides to pour hundreds of thousands of dollars into a motorized supermarket.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 28 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They already have drive thru liquor stores. I haven't heard of a drive thru gun and ammo shop, but I'm sure Texas has them.

[–] Rolder@reddthat.com 20 points 1 year ago

I googled that and they do exist, and they are indeed in Texas

[–] nxdefiant@startrek.website 24 points 1 year ago

You'll never reach the top shelf ranch in a truck that short.

[–] Tugboater203@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] WeeSheep@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (3 children)

I agree. There should be Trump's face over an American flag painted on the side of that truck, and a pile of guns in the back. Otherwise you barely know it's 'murkkka

[–] DosDude@retrolemmy.com 3 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Well a truck like that is either uncommon or illegal in most parts of the world outside of USA

[–] n0clue@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Illegal? I'm surprised I haven't seen an ad proclaiming that tbh.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

A truck like that would also be vandalized pretty quickly in many areas of the US.

[–] WeeSheep@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well yeah, most parts don't have that kinda freedom. Freedom for children to die in schools. Freedom to have a lethal standoff whenever you want. Such freedom.

[–] maynarkh 3 points 1 year ago

Solidarity strikes are banned though, you can't have all the freedom.

[–] bobs_monkey@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Nah, let's let that fat old fuck fall into obscurity

Unless these jars are America-sized.

[–] HuntressHimbo@lemm.ee 17 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Without the smoke stack I'm used to seeing this looks almost restrained for an American truck

[–] Contramuffin@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

This post: over-the-top satire of Americans

The comments: oh god no don't give them any ideas

Yeah that sounds about right for America

[–] RIP_Cheems@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Don't worry, this idea is in the works

[–] SmoothIsFast@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago (4 children)

In the works? It is well established.

[–] KrankyKong@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

I've seen a few of these drive up convenience stores pop up. They never seem to last.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That was the weirdest thing I learned while spending time in Ohio. Finding out that you could go to a place that looked like a car wash except it sold beer.

[–] zalgotext@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah and it's awesome

[–] Thcdenton@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah we got one of those in Cali.

[–] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Tobaccy ain't no beverage.

[–] Meowie_Gamer@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

As an American myself, I can confirm this is how we go to the store.

[–] jrbaconcheese@yall.theatl.social 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not enough Ranch or BBQ sauce

…but otherwise accurate

[–] rtxn@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

No guns? No stars and stripes paintjob? No opened cans of shitty Budweiser rip-off (extremely sarcastic quotes) "beer"? Dunno, seems fake

Where’s muh bbq sauce and 24 pack of hot dogs

That's actually a thing. https://brewthru.com/

[–] banichan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Is the truck small or are the shelves huge?

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 2 points 1 year ago
