I think moving to USB-C was the right move, but when I upgrade eventually, I will have to buy a bunch of new cables and power bricks too, so it's a hidden cost. Admittedly, if you know where to go, that cost is minimal, but it is still there and it is also something I have to prepare for ahead of time. I have, in regular use, 5 cables right now, 3 of them in bricks. All 5 cables and all 3 bricks would need to be replaced.
I admit I could probably do all of that for $20-$30, but it's still annoying.
