If it's true - and it increasingly looks like it is - then I'm really glad that people get all worked up about the prez being a fucking pedo.

But I'm utterly dismayed that they aren't at least ten times more worked up that he's a fucking Nazi actively trying to destroy the republic and install himself as a dictator.

People have a strange set of priorities...

As a rational human being capable of independent thought I agree with you. Unfortunately, the average American doesn't fall under this category, and there's an alarmingly significant portion of our populace who are very much okay with the Nazi shit. They voted for the Nazi shit.

For whatever reason, pedophilia (yet not rape, misogyny, or non-sexual child abuse of any other flavor) appears to be the line for these people. So, yes, he's very much all the other things you mentioned, but for the good of public discourse, it's my patriotic duty to shout as loudly as I can for all to hear:

The president is a pedophile

For whatever reason, pedophilia (yet not rape,

She was asking for it

misogyny,

It's not like they're good for anything but babies

or non-sexual child abuse of any other flavor)

Spare the rod, spoil the child

appears to be the line for these people.

If it’s true!? This shit has been known and ignored for the past 2 decades. Nothing is gonna change shit for that shit bag. We are stuck with a multi felon pedophile president for the next 3 years and he has the backing to do whatever he wants. We are fucked. Not apocalyptic fucked, but it will take a decade or two to fix fucked. The next 10 years are not gonna be glorious, think of the Great Depression…. More like that.

We still haven't fixed Reagan, and this is far worse.

I'm afraid I'll die long before republicans even start to think about trying to redeem themselves, not that they could.

I’ll take what I can get at this point.

The thing that scares me is Vance. He’s not going to be distracted by jangling keys.

The thing that scares me is Vance

Yes, Vance is a much more dangerous Nazi than Trump, because he's intelligent.

But Vance has the charisma of a wet mop, and at the moment, the Trump regime isn't quite entrenched enough to survive on fear alone - which is the only way Vance could take over and stay in power. For the moment, the regime still needs Trumps' populism, whatever remains of it.

If Trump falls tomorrow, there's a very good chance that the entire fascist shitshow will collapse and Vance will be flushed with it. But it won't take long for the regime to be in a position to survive without Trump. So hopefully the Epstein thing will be his undoing sooner rather than later.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

Right, Vance is a charisma black hole.

What he has going for him is that he can be an off-ramp for Trump supporters. He could fill the void left by Trump and Trump supporters won’t have to do any introspection, change sides to democrats.

And he has the backing of the billionaires.

And, you know, he’s VP, so inertia’s on his side.

[–] wavebeam@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Saying he’s intelligent is giving him a lot of credit for simply not being nearly as fucking dumb as trump.

[–] ExtremeDullard@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 day ago

Don't underestimate Vance. He's only a pretend hick.
