And many farmers couldn't care less. They'll only really only have to face the facts when crop insurance dries up anyway, though.

Unless things have changed since my family left the farm, crop insurance is only enough to cover the lost cost of inputs, it's not going to be enough to turn a profit.

No farmer wants their crop to fail. They want a good harvest that they can earn some profit from.
