I think it would have been a lot easier, to just be like 'hey, they started a war with Iran. I would never do that by the way. But we wish them well, dont we folks? We'll see, but we're hoping they do well'

It looks a lot more like someone climing the the highest diving board and pissing themselves when they get to the top

I could see the US having pushed for this thinking they where hot shit, and then realising that maybe they are not so awsome and a war might have some consiquences for them. Especialy given how they tried to back track after they greenlit this war
