this Nintendo Switch 2 in Japan costs less then u.s Switch (less then $400) - the cheaper one only has Japanese language support, the other is multi language. (www.pcmag.com)

There is a Japan exclusive console Nintendo Switch 2 edition, that costs much less than the default multi language Nintendo Switch 2. Japan has two Switch 2 consoles in Japan.

supposibly the cheaper Switch will only work in Japan, and only support the Japanese language.

Nintendo putting their own country first? and charging everyone else more? huh?

Because the yen in very weak right now. Global customers would buy up the entire Japanese stock if Nintendo released the Switch at an affordable price in Japan and if the price in Japan was the same as in the west, players wouldnt afford it.
