  • Fix Proton integration bugs so Proton-fixes are applied
  • Do not offer DXVK, VKD3D, D3D Extras or DDXVK-NVAPI on Proton versions; Proton will handle these.
  • The "Enable Esync" and "Enable Fsync" settings are now passed on to Proton
  • DXVK's integrated D8VK will be enabled in Proton
  • Emulator BIOS file location (used by libretro) may be set in Preferences
  • Obtain the release year from GOG and Itch.io.
  • MAME Machine setting uses a searchable entry for its enourmous list
  • Support for importing Commodore 64 ROMs

I don't need anything special or pricey, just a basic controller that does basic controller things.

I've tried a few generic controllers, but they have issues with bluetooth, battery life, and automatically shutting off too early from idling.

Does anyone know of any generic controllers that don't have these issues? I don't mind if the battery life isn't the same or better than official controllers, but they shouldn't straight up lie about the capacity. It should be illegal.

That code is now part of this February 2025 DirectX Shader Compiler release as they further build-out the DXIL capabilities. Developers outside of Microsoft previously reverse-engineered the hashing algorithm while now it's officially open-source. This will help in situations like those compiling shaders for DirectX outside of Windows hosts or the selective Linux binaries Microsoft has provided in the past.

Let's goo!!!!!

Hi ,

I will hopefully be building a Linux gaming PC this year. To be honest its the first PC I've ever built, so tips would be appreciated. Currently my only game PC/console is my Steamdeck. I will probably install Bazzite, until steamOS is released and works with all the hardware I choose. This is my chosen hardware using pcpartpicker.comfor compatibility.

CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X

GPU: Gigabyte Radon RX 7800 XT

Motherboard: MSI Mag B650 Tomahawk

Storage: WD black SN770 nvme 1TB

Memory : corsair vengeance DDR5 32GB

PSU: corsair RM850e

Case: Corsair 4000D RGB airflow

(edit 1) : cooling: Peerless Assassin 120E

I don't play any online multiplayer games, mainly games like horizon zero dawn , cyberpunk 2077, God of war. etc. Obviously I play on terrible settings on the steamdeck, but would like a decent future proof or upgradable build that willl run with 1440p high settings.

I suspect this hardware is good enough for this, but will it be suitable going forward without rebuying most of the components ?

Any tips about future proofing or PC building in general would be really appreciated.

I just think it's pretty cool that Felix, who has never really mentioned anything Linux before, chose to go with a Linux distro for the PC he put together.

The game works really well on both lutris and heroic, no issues other then gamescope and fsr refusing to work, tried nearly everything I could from using different versions of wine and proton (including ge), messing with the arguments and variables, messing with the toggles, trying different versions of gamescope, nothing worked, gamescope even straight up just crashes the game when it launches whenever it's enabled.

Edit: I've also messed around with the in game resolution, full screen, and windowed, still doesn't activate fsr either.

Anybody dabbled with this? Any fixes or is this game just incompatible with fsr on linux?

I'm on Kubuntu 24.04 if it helps? Do I have to update my distro or is it something else? Not a linux expert or anything fyi.

Anyone have recommendations for hardware to run Moonlight on a 4K TV? I want to play games on my PC, but I don't want to isolate myself in the office. I imagine a mini-PC would be more appropriate than something like a RPi, but does anyone have specific recs? I have never really bought a device like this. My laptop is not suited for the task so "use an old laptop" isn't a good rec for me really. And yes this relevant to linux since the server and client will be running linux. ;)
