  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Summary

Elon Musk called for the impeachment of federal judges after courts blocked his DOGE from laying off probationary (new) federal workers.

Judges ordered agencies to reinstate tens of thousands of employees, ruling the firings unlawful. Musk claimed judicial resistance undermines democracy.

Musk has attacked judges on social media, calling them “corrupt” and “evil,” raising concerns among federal judges about their safety.

How ironic that the guy who was never elected for anything is whining about democracy. And "corrupt"? Corrupt might as well be Elon's middle name.

Fortunately, there seems to be a growing resentment about that with the GOP electorate for this very issue. We’ll have to see if it’s enough to help tip the scales.

We’ll have to see if it’s enough to help tip the scales.

If Trump and Musk have their way, November 2024 was the last time they will be using scales.

[–] upandup@sh.itjust.works 33 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It’s debatable whether scales were used even then. But I get what you’re saying.

Trump straight up admitted that they rigged the election like 2 days ago.

Edit Source is at the 3 minute mark

and 2 days before that, and 4 days before that, he's been steadily skwaking about that. I don't know if it's a gloat or an intended button to press. I'd like to see someone challenge him to prove it, he couldn't stop himself.

He's far more certain that another coup won't erase him than I am. (which is admittedly not 50% yet but still)

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 2 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

He always gloats. He loves to put out the message that he can do anything with impunity.

And that will be true until he is stopped.

I've no doubt, since that bloviating idiot can't keep his mouth shut to save his life, but do you have a link?

So much out in the open. What is your breaking point? At what point do we take to the streets over this?

[–] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

What about a big, upright scale, with a heavy blade at the top? Ask the French about it.

[–] Liberal_Ghost@lemmy.zip 2 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I'm down for that. Do you think the French will let us rent one from them? Or should we just build our own? I feel like we could use enough to justify the cost of building 😉

[–] ArchmageAzor@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

You don't even need one, you can just use an axe, or a noose.

[–] Liberal_Ghost@lemmy.zip 2 points 21 hours ago

Yeah, but a guillotine is so much cooler. If we are revolting, do it in style 😉

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 day ago (3 children)

My local magats are still behind him, they think it’s criminal that people are protesting at our local Tesla dealership. I think at least one of them—who’s extremely anti EV, is considering a fucking Tesla. And he’s a car guy who has had multiple luxury cars, and knows Tesla build quality is garbage.

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 1 points 16 hours ago

Same, one of mine is claiming that "Protesting Elon Musk to fight corruption is like killing chickens to bring down egg prices!"

[–] ZoopZeZoop@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

Then, he's a moron and he deserves to be bilked out of his money. Fuck him.

[–] alkbch@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 day ago

The irony is lost on him and anyone agreeing with him on this issue.
