What is geoscience?

Geoscience (also called Earth Science) is the study of Earth. Geoscience includes so much more than rocks and volcanoes, it studies the processes that form and shape Earth's surface, the natural resources we use, and how water and ecosystems are interconnected. Not only couldn't but wouldn't bother. No private companies going to bother to put resources into places that can't bring in a significant Revenue. Small towns, farming communities, Mountain areas, these are places where there's just not enough people to pay for the service or at least pay for it to the degree of these companies are going to want. It's inherently a stupid idea. Just like privatizing the post office. The goal of a private company is incompatible with the need of the service.
