Sadly from what I half-remember from the one review I watched a while ago, it seems to be a deeply liberal and idealist movie.

You put it at the edge of a table, and use the ruler part as support to draw consistent parallel lines. It's for product drawing, but also architecture and interior design. Really annoying to use, I always preferred using my A3 size board instead, it was much more practical
