The moon is cooler because you can look at it without burning your eyes
It's also cooler because the temperature is lower.
Which is why you can look at it qithout burning your eyes
Pfft Sirius, aka the North Star, is nearly twice as hot as the sun and I can look at it without burning my eyes. Boom roasted!
Except for those few times when it's in front of the sun.
