Do you have a source for it? As far as I know and also according to Wikipedia, this is not correct.

Direct alcohol tolerance is largely dependent on body size. Large-bodied people will require more alcohol to reach insobriety than lightly built people.

Einen ähnlichen Vorfall gab es bereits kürzlich beim ZDF. Kabarettist und "Die Anstalt"-Gastgeber Max Uthoff durfte kurzfristig nicht an der Folge vom 11. Februar teilnehmen, nachdem er gemeinsam mit seiner Ehefrau Wahlwerbung für die Partei Die Linke gemacht hatte.

Wenn die Wahl bzw. Kritik an einzelnen Parteien explizit Thema des Beitrags ist, kann ich das ja noch zu einem gewissen Grad verstehen. Aber in diesem Fall geht es doch um eine normale Quiz-Show!? Das erscheint mir dann doch etwas abwegig und - wie weiter oben hingewiesen wurde - auch mit zweierlei Maß gemessen, wenn gleichzeitig Merz-Befürworter weiterhin ausgestrahlt werden.

I'm still not convinced. If you offer a service that costs money continously but customers don't pay periodically, you need another source of income to offset these losses. That means customers who pay periodically have to pay higher rates (making the service less attractive) or you have to make money with your customers' data. Additionaly, if I were a customer interested in the service, why would I sign up for the monthly plan, if I knew that I can just wait until lifetime plans are available again? According to their FAQ you can even stack multiple plans, so you can buy two times 100 GB to get 200 GB permanently etc.

Doesn't sound exactly like a sustainable business model to me. Giving storage away for free or for a one time payment cannot cover the steady costs for hardware, traffic etc.

Ehrlicherweise muss man aber auch sagen, dass die Bevölkerung laut Umfragen auch keinen "linken Fortschritt" möchte. Dass das Land aktuell ziemlich gespalten ist, spiegelt sich eben auch in den Umfragen. Eine CDU/SPD/Grüne-Koalition könnte da noch der Kompromiss sein, der den Willen des Landes am ehesten abbildet. Vermutlich wäre auf allen Seiten niemand so richtig froh über dieses Bündnis aber im Vergleich zu CDU/AfD dürfte es der linken Hälfte Deutschlands und im Vergleich zu SPD/Grüne/Linke o.ä. der rechten Hälfte deutlich lieber sein. Auch wenn es an vielen Stellen auf Stillstand und widersprüchliche Entscheidungen hinausläuft.

You could also argue all scientists (physicists, biologists, chemists, ...) to be hackers that constantly find new tricks and glitches in the underlying algorithm of the universe...

Erzählt mir nicht den Scheiß, dass es funktioniert, am Freitag von zu Hause aus zu arbeiten. Ich rufe freitags viele Leute an und nicht eine verdammte Person geht ran

Da fielen mir aber noch ein paar andere Gründe ein: Er ruft auf dem Festnetz im Büro an, niemand außer ihm nutzt noch normale Telefone, die Mitarbeiter sind bereits in einem Termin, die Mitarbeiter mögen ihn nicht und gehen nicht dran, wenn sie seine Nummer sehen etc.

Auf welche Umfrage beziehst du dich da?

Laut den Umfragen, die auf https://www.wahlrecht.de/umfragen/ gelistet sind, reicht es überall relativ locker für CDU/SPD/Grüne. INSA: 58% Forschungsgruppe Wahlen: 58% GMS: 59% Forsa: 59% [...]

Und das ist wohlgemerkt noch ohne Berücksichtigung der Fünf-Prozent-Hürde. Je nachdem wie viele Parteien daran scheitern, wäre nach den aktuellen Umfragen auch eine Zweierkoalition denkbar.

Hallo zusammen,

ich lese häufig hier und auch anderswo im Netz von der guten und wichtigen Oppositionsarbeit, die einige Parteien (z.B. Die Linke) im deutschen Bundestag leisten. Persönlich muss ich aber gestehen, dass ich mir darunter relativ wenig vorstellen kann.

In diesem Video des Bundestages werden als wichtigste Aspekte genannt:

  • Durch die Redezeit im Bundestag können sie Abgeordnete anderer Fraktionen aufklären und umstimmen.
  • Durch Anfragen verschiedenster Arten können sie die Regierung kontrollieren.

Bei beiden Aspekten sehe ich allerdings keinen großen Hebel, insbesondere da die Regierung zumeist einstimmig abstimmt und nur selten die Abgeordneten individuell entscheiden.

Übersehe ich wichtige Aufgaben? Unterschätze ich den Einfluss? Findet die eigentliche Überzeugungsarbeit und Einflussnahme ggf. bereits in den Ausschüssen statt, bevor ein Anliegen überhaupt in den Bundestag gelangt? Kann man diesen Einfluss verschiedener Oppositionsparteien irgendwie objektiv messbar machen?

PS: Ich poste dies bewusst in DACH, da mich auch Ähnlichkeiten und etwaige Unterschiede zu unseren Nachbarn interessieren würden.

Kreative Route von Deutschland nach Griechenland (sopuli.xyz)
 

Ich wurde dieses Jahr zu einer Feierlichkeit für ein Wochenende nach Griechenland eingeladen. Nun möchte ich eigentlich weder absagen, noch in einen Flieger steigen - noch dazu für 2,5 Tage Aufenthalt.

Arbeiten kann ich prinzipiell überall, wo es Strom und Internet gibt. Wenn dies gewährleistet ist, wäre ich auch okay damit, wenn die Anreise ein paar Tage dauert.

Hat jemand Erfahrungen mit der Kombination mehrerer Nachtzüge, Nachtzüge und Fähre oder andere konstruktive Ideen, wie man die Reise etwas umweltschonender gestalten könnte?

Eine Alternative könnte ggf. auch ein längerer Balkan-Road-Trip mit E-Auto werden, in den ich Griechenland nur als Abstecher einbaue aber das müsste ich erst noch mit meiner (dann hoffentlich mitreisenden) Partnerin klären.

Vegans being banned and comments being deleted from !vegan@lemmy.world for being fake vegans.

From my perspective, the comments were in no way insulting and just part of completely normal interaction. If this decision reflects the general opinion of the mod team, then from my perspective, the biggest vegan community on Lemmy wants to be an elitist cycle of hardcore vegans only, not allowing any slightly different opinion. Which would be very unfortunate.

PS: In contrast to the name of this community, I don't want to insult anyone here being a 'bastard'. I just want to post this somewhere on neutral ground. I would really appreciate an open discussion without bashing anyone.

Recently, I noticed that no matter which delivery I'm tracking and no matter which status the package is currently in, DHL always claims the estimated delivery date to be yesterday.

This package was dropped at the DHL office on 23rd. When I checked right afterwards, the expected delivery was declared as 22nd. If I'm checking today (24th), it's now scheduled for the 23rd.

I don't play too often overall but today was the first time I couldn't solve a wordle. I feel slightly offended and see it as a mean, early christmas present by the NYT. 😄

Hi all,

When I create a new post or comment there are buttons for different formatting options (bold, italic, hyperlink, ...) right above the on-screen keyboard. One of the buttons is a little circle with an exclamation mark that is called spoiler.

If I click on it, it adds three colons followed by 'spoiler spoiler' and then at the end again three colons. But after I publish the post or comment, I don't see any effect or special formatting of my text. It's just the text and that non-functional tags.

Is that a bug or is that how it's meant to work?
