Liberals are what passes for the left here, yes.

but he's gonna find the left isn't quite as stupid as he thinks.

I wish I shared your optimism. Nothing in my experience of life tells me that betting on the left, especially their elected representatives, to not do something stupid is a good plan.

We're still accelerating towards the cliff. Mitigation starts with taking our collective foot off the gas, both literally and metaphorically, but that is so far out of the realm of possibility that we might as well be talking about actual magic.

Others have said what I would have said better so I won't say much, but I didn't think upvotes were enough so I will say that there's nothing wrong with you for feeling the way you do. You're not alone and things do get better, even if better ends up meaning something different than you were expecting.

Keep hiding then. I'm sure that will work out great

Russia can't even fully exploit their neighbor. What the fuck are they going to do to the whole world?

You're not wrong but everyone seems to think that's someone else's job. We're not going to see actual change until people like you and I start fixing pipes ourselves.

The logic is "I hate my job so you have to hate whatever you spend most of your time doing too". It makes sense if you think life is supposed to be hard but it seems like the obvious solution is to make life easier for everyone rather than harder for those who have trouble participating in our dumb economic system.

Oh, well in that case it's a totally reasonable and very much not insane rule. /s

What does it mean to own this result? Getting voted out of congress, which is more than most are likely to get, ends with a cushy corporate job and at least hundreds of thousands more dollars than the people they are fucking over. Even in the best case scenario accountability is a fantasy.

I don't think it's hyperbole to say that modern medicine has saved the life of too many idiots who went on to have idiot children. It's hard to have that conversation without people assuming you're venturing into eugenics but it is a real thing.

You're arguing from an informed and logical perspective. That's not how modern elections work in the US. Voters didn't know or care that inflation was worse in other places. They knew they were getting fucked in a back alley and Biden wasn't helping them put their pants back on. That's really all there is to it.

Can we add the option to exclude communities and/or posts that are in a different language than our chosen default? I'm guessing filtering communities would be easier than individual posts but I'm not sure how language would be flagged. I understand some people may want to see some of these posts but even multilingual people must be bombarded with posts in languages they don't speak. I'm getting pretty annoyed that half of my feed is stuff I can't read.

I've looked through the settings multiple times but I suppose it's still possible this already exists and I just missed it.
