could have gone the rest of my life without knowing that Charlie Kirk walks around all day with a shitty doodoo ass, scratches said shitty doodoo ass with his bare hands and then doesn't wash the shitty doodoo from the hands that he scratched his shitty doodoo ass with

counterpoint: games are also bad, because they are developed by, you guessed it, gamers

(don't take this too seriously, I know there are some good games out there)

and drank the "technology will make everything better bro trust me" kool-aid

ugh same. got caught up in the ridiculous tech-optimism of the early-to-mid 2010s. I thought self-driving cars and VR were the frickin' future. it's hard to imagine now but there was so little public criticism of big tech back then

watching the bombs drop in Baghdad at age 10 was probably my first "are we the baddies" moment. after that I could trace my political development through the punk bands I listened to as a teen. when I liked Green Day I was anti-Bush but not really a leftist, my first exposure to anti-capitalism came from listening to Refused, and then getting into more anarcho-punk bands made me hate cops and the US military but still had "communism bad" brainworms. by my early 20s I had slipped back into being more of a radlib/socdem (Bernie 2016) and like most of you gradually became more of a socialist/communist from there

one of his former employees, Lauren Bousfield, has alleged that he fired her for coming out as trans

it's not relevant to this post obviously but I think people should know about that

I'm a 30 year old living at my parents house who recently got a job, in public service no less, and I can't afford rent. very cool!

not a gamer though so I've got that going for me

lord knows chuds and zionists are some of the most violent, unhinged people on the planet and I'm sure the threats against him have increased tenfold since the primary. please stay safe out there Zohran

"you're no different than a pod bro" says the guy angrily ranting into his podcast mic

anyway kinda weird to spend half the video glazing your own dad

meanwhile there's a lot of work that needs doing that is not being done. maybe people wouldn't be so "anti-work" if their work meaningfully contributed to society and afforded them a decent standard of living

- originally I had the text read "Commiefornia" or "Commiefornia Republic" but that's too meme-y; I wanted an unironic take on what the flag of a hypothetical communist state of California would look like

- changed the white to gold because it's the golden state, also communism (duh)

- I just copied the red and gold hues from China's flag because they look good together, but that might be too derivative

- The hammer and sickle is more akin to the Soviet version, I just grabbed an svg from the internet

- changed the bear's dark brown to black and the light brown to a different dark brown. looks sicker that way. also made the text black

- simplified the grass patch to be one solid color because it's cleaner

as a bonus here's my original hand-drawn "Commiefornia" sketch. I was too lazy to detail the bear but I liked it enough to create the vector version seen above

hi comrades I've been on this site with various accounts since it was a subreddit and I've just returned after deleting my last account a few months back

some time ago I posted about being unemployed for a long time and lacking the motivation to find work and just generally being alienated and having no direction in life. a lot of kind people had great advice, and shout out to the person in particular who suggested postal work, whoever you are! that planted the seed in my brain and the more I thought about it, the more sense it made to me. and now I've just received a job offer to become a mail carrier! I will be out in the real world, serving the public, getting exercise, and most importantly, not having to work for porky

it will be a difficult road ahead, this is a radical change in lifestyle but that's exactly what I needed and I'm looking forward to accepting the challenge

PS any advice from other postal worker comrades is very much welcome, as this line of work is very much new to me!
