Pretty much. It's a great excuse to play dress up and scream about wizards.

Microsoft is a lot more aggressive with EoLing it's Windows versions now exactly because XP lived so long. It was an absolute pain for them to maintain and support that for so long and they've made very sure they don't repeat that experience.

Personally I would go with getting a used pixel device and stick graphene OS on it giving you a much reduced risk to your privacy while still allowing you acess to some of the nicer conveniences that smartphones allow.
