My teamlead had a Galaxy fold (the big one, not the flip-style) second-hand so it was cheap-ish. She liked it, unfortunately she broke it (though not in a fold-specific way iirc). She now uses a regular slab phone due to the price difference.

I've seen her phone and a display model in the store, the crease really doesn't look that bothersome to me. I'd buy one if I could (somewhat) easily install another OS on it, if my current phone breaks or loses support for my apps. Assuming that they stick around and the price won't be as exorbitant in a year or two, that is...

You need the direct image link rather than the ibb.co link you shared here though.

Probably for using Reddit as a source. Wasn't me tho, at least you responded.

The other article mentions ~8% of Europeans and ~15% of Americans invest in stock directly. It's less common, but not as if no one does it at all, either.

I do find it funny how my comment was downvoted as well (2 up incl my own, 2 down); I just found it weird that the person making a claim ('few Europeans invest in stocks') doesn't have to provide a source, but rather the person disagreeing is expected to. Maybe that's a common thing, but it is odd in my opinion. But that could be because I'm young or w/e

When trying to load my subscribed feed, more often than not I get an error. It tries for about 20 seconds but then times out. This happens with infinite scrolls too, it takes a while before I can actually see new posts.

While this is much more common on this Lemmy instance (feddit.nl) than e.g. my alt account on lemmynsfw, the official web-UI doesn't have this issue at all, nor does Photon (at least, the web-app hosted at ph.feddit.nl).

There doesn't seem to be a difference between 4g, 5g and wifi, and turning on/off rethink dns doesn't change anything either. I've also tried toggling the https over dns option, which again does not have any impact.

Reboots, force stopping and clearing cache also do not have an effect.

If anyone else experiences similar problems, or has a potential solution, I'd gladly hear them.

Hi! I would really appreciate a feature allowing Sync to open Lemmy posts from e.g. my browser. I'm not an Android dev so I do not have a clue of how feasible this is, but it'd make me really happy :)

Anyways, appreciate the work you're doing, please don't burn yourself out too much

⚠️WARNING⚠️ certified NOT-A-SHITPOST!!

This is a petition from EU citizens, who believe conversion therapy should be explicitly illegal in the European Union. If this petition reaches 1 000 000 votes, and at least 7 EU member states have reached their own "threshold" of minimum local votes, the European Commision will be obligated to consider this. So please, if you are able, vote on this Citizen's Initiative, and share it with others! The submissions close May 17th, 2025.

Below is the description on the Initiative page:

Objectives We call on the European Commission to propose a binding legal ban on conversion practices targeting LGBTQ+ citizens in the European Union:

Conversion Practices are interventions aimed at changing, repressing or suppressing the sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression of LGBTQ+ persons.

Such practices, due to their discriminatory, degrading, harmful and fraudulent nature have been qualified as torture by the United Nations, and are currently being banned in a growing number of States.

The EU plays a key role in the protection of fundamental rights and should take actions to fight against all inhuman practices. The Commission should propose a directive adding conversion practices to the list of euro-crimes and/or amend the ongoing directive on equality (2008) to include a ban on these practices.

Furthermore, to fight against the legislative moratorium, the Commission should also enforce a non-binding resolution calling for a widespread ban of conversion practices in the EU.

Finally, we call on the Commission to amend the Victims’ Rights Directive to establishes minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of conversion practices.

All member states should introduce a ban on conversion practices or review their current ones.
