https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numbers_station

A numbers station is a shortwave radio station characterized by broadcasts of formatted numbers, which are believed to be addressed to intelligence officers operating in foreign countries.[1] Most identified stations use speech synthesis to vocalize numbers, although digital modes such as phase-shift keying and frequency-shift keying, as well as Morse code transmissions, are not uncommon. Most stations have set time schedules, or schedule patterns; however, some appear to have no discernible pattern and broadcast at random times. Stations may have set frequencies in the high-frequency band.[2]

Numbers stations have been reported since at least the start of World War I and continue in use today. Amongst amateur radio enthusiasts there is an interest in monitoring and classifying numbers stations, with many being given nicknames to represent their quirks or origins.

… what? If the voter in question is at odds with your ideas, that’s not someone who shares your “values.”

it's repackaged "love me, i'm a liberal". it means they feel sorta bad about systemic oppression of marginalized groups of people and so they "value" things like equality. and that's easy to measure in surveys, you see. just ask potential voters how much they "value" certain vaguely defined words. but obviously they don't want to do anything to fundamentally change anything, so those voters tend to disagree with their "ideas" about precisely how to do nothing.

welcome back!

everyone is most interested especially to learn about how trump's tariffs will actually strengthen dollar hegemony ;)

i think we're seeing a real conflict between factions within the u.s. ruling class, with trump support primarily coming from domestic capital interests (extraction industries, but also distribution) whereas biden/harris draw much more from international finance capital. i suggest the trump faction's goal here is partly to punish finance capitalists and their control of the federal reserve. the tariffs serve as a very blunt cudgel to that end, and were undoubtedly supported at least in name by many of his economic advisors and their friends.

but no rush, i look forward to your summary!
