Thanks for the greenboard tip. I hadn't heard of that before.

It does feel like one of those simple-but-heavy problems.

Seconding @woodenghost@hexbear.net. You have a responsibility to your partner to keep these double-dates a group event and not two parallel conversations.

Right now your proposition to her is basically 'Give up however many hours of your limited freetime so I can hang out with my buddy! I am going to ignore you and stick you with someone you actively dislike hanging out with.' How else do you expect a rational person to feel about that?

De-industrialization in the West was made possible by the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the scenario you describe.

The primary contradiction shifts from the domestic contradiction between the workers and the bourgeoisie to the contradiction between imperialist and colonized nations. This is the same reason why there is a star for national capitalists on the flag of the PRC!

Thanks for the clarification! I remember the brief negative oil prices during March 2020 as speculators suddenly were on the hook to collect oil which there was no demand for and for which they had no facilities.

I think it's important to make use of it while it's available but still be critical/suspicious. In the meantime, Pal Action is making some real wins. I am sorry to hear about the pain and hardship he has caused your comrades and organization. For radical movements to really be sustainable, they need to be member funded and independent of these fickle streams of support which can be turned off at a whim.

Why are coffee prices given in cents per pound but referred to as dollars per pound in source material?

Partisan usually refers to guerilla bands without strong institutions or state infrastructure. For example, it doesn't really apply to Hezbollah which is a quasi-state and approaching a conventional military. It certainly doesn't apply to Iran which is a conventonal army.

NPA and Naxals have large numbers of active women combatants.

I'm familiar with that source! Thank you so much for sharing and for taking the time to make the relevant sections parsable.

Why do you think it is funny to mock and comment on the body of someone who looks different from you? This is embarrassing. I encourage you to reflect on yourself and your media habits.

@Skavau@lemm.ee This is a Dipshit Mocking community, and thus I post Dipshit-related content. You are one of the more easily provoked ones.

I was camping with my friend and told him "did you know succubus is a concatenation of 'I suck you bust' and the original myth was anti-oral sex?" after he finished laughing he said "now do incubus." I missed my chance to say "I would but you're too sleepy." and spent like an hour thinking up a fake etymology of 'incubus' but I couldn't think up anything good. :c

Not for any real purpose yet but I think it would be a fun project and could help us get used to using secure communications outside of our phones. Does anyone have experience setting one up? Also there was a guide posted somewhere on Lemmy recently that I am having trouble finding if anyone could share.
