This happened to one of Martin's close friends, who was also a writer. They commissioned a Chronicles of Amber prequel series and boy was it terrible. (The original author was Roger Zelazny, in case you were wondering)
I think we can rule out people with egg intolerances though
And I didn't know about that. We both learned something today 😁
