Why is this news, from the article this looks to be a fairly "routine" event? Not that I support Russia, but I imagine NATO forces are also engaging in similar behaviour somewhere else?

I couldn't give a fuck what they think is legal anymore, the law of the modern world seems to be in the upside down.

The plain, simple answer is Yes.

The worst part of this for me is that none of them are even communist really, they just hate NATO and love modern day Russia for some weird reason?

Like I actually like the idea of proper commune style communism, being a fairly far left socialist (and also wanting to see the capitalist/imperial American system fall and/or replaced with something better). But none of these lot are actually communist in the slightest (as I said) they are literally just anti-west / pro-auth / pro-Russia people...

Yes, all because of western hatred, fuck all to do with the people who invaded in the first place. They're all imperalist fucks but takes like this on the situation are just completely braindead.

I also wonder this but would like to also add a caveat; has any world leader or politician been a trekkie?

Close on the values of trek (humanism) would certainly be the Irish president for me (Michael D. Higgins). Unfortunately though the Irish president doesn't hold much legal power
