Ehh... No thank you. I want to have a neutral search result.

If you ignore the ads and are never clicking on them, DDG most likely doesn't get any revenue anyways.

Nothing to do with Bing, it's paid ads, that can be disabled.

If anything, your browser is doing shady things. Or an extension you use.

despite using a non-US based web server, and NOT google, my search for the site was altered during results loading, and even when the url was typed in, I was redirected twice....

What does that mean?

Can that synchronize as you film? Will your phone expose the temporary file to syncthing before the recording is over? Does it block anyone from deleting the file from the phone?

(Psst: It's "Ukraine", not "the Ukraine". It was "the Ukraine" when it was a territory of the Russian Empire. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Name_of_Ukraine)

It's very much not recommended, and generally seen as an error. But this article puts an asterisk on it.

I'd look into MongoDB Atlas for the database itself and Google Cloud Storage or AWS S3 for storing images and videos with the link to their sources stored in the database.

In the US*

That's an important caveat!

I find that they block your ears and reduce your vision too much.

That's not how it works. You don't need an app to know that someone is tracking you with an Airtag (or compatible) or a Google tracker on either iOS or Android.

Hi!

Sometimes, a comment is deleted by a mod, and I'd like to see what it said without having to dig it manually.

For multiple reasons:

  • To keep mods accountable: We have seen mods abusing their power on some communities.
  • To understand context when reading replies of deleted comments.

Now, of course they shouldn't simply show in the UI, it should show as deleted, but I could see an option to retrieve it from the "three dots" menu.

Thanks for the app!

Hello,

I would like to self host either on my machine, or on a raspberry pi. I don't absolutely need to access it from outside my network, but it would be a plus. I have read this page: https://docs.piped.video/docs/self-hosting/ , but I'm a bit lost on how to set up hostnames. Maybe I can use something like DuckDNS: https://www.duckdns.org/
