Kings Trading for Valanciunas (bleacherreport.com)
submitted 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) by TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml to c/nba@lemmy.world

Wizards are trading Jonas Valanciunas to the Kings for Sidy Cissoko and two second-round picks

Per ESPN's Shams Charania, the Bucks will receive Kuzma, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and a second-round draft pick from the Wizards for Middleton, AJ Johnson and a pick swap.

Edit: Some more context

ESPN's Bobby Marks added that Kuzma agreed to reduce a portion of his trade bonus to keep the Bucks under the second apron.

Kuzma contact also declines each year. Think this was a smart play since they now have more flexibility this year/next year being under the 2nd apron and don’t lose the draft pick that comes with being over so can potentially trade that. Key thing will be how Kuzma helps them in the playoffs, he did play a similar role on the Lakers championship team.

Late edit: The Bucks will also acquire center Jericho Sims from the New York Knicks as part of the deal, according to Charania. The Knicks will receive Delon Wright and cash.

Mavs Trading for Caleb Martin (bleacherreport.com)
submitted 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) by TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml to c/nba@lemmy.world

Mavs Receive: Caleb Martin

76ers Receive: Quentin Grimes and their own 2025 2nd round pick back

Looked like it was going to be boring because of the 2nd apron but it’s been one of the most exciting of the last couple of years

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 weeks ago

I had a similar thought when I initially saw it but like you said you didn’t have to give up Castke and there not the highest pics so think it’s pretty fair all around.

Full trade:

Spurs: De'Aaron Fox, Jordan McLaughlin

Kings: Zach LaVine, Sidy Cissoko, three first round picks (2025 CHA, 2027 SAS, 2031 MIN), three second round picks (2025 CHI, 2028 DEN, 2028 own back)

Bulls: Zach Collins, Tre Jones, Kevin Huerter, their own 2025 pick via SAS

Lol

lol apparently this was holding up the Luka trade

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 14 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

It really is lol like the justification is that Luka has conditioning issues and is injured so instead of going to any other team they just go to the lakers and trade for an older more injury prone AD and 1 pick lol

  • Shams Charania: The Mavericks approached the Lakers recently and offered Luka Doncic, sources tell ESPN. Lakers brass met and believed the 25-year-old Doncic has the ability to be the face of their franchise for the next decade while giving Anthony Davis a win-now move in Dallas.https://xcancel.com/ShamsCharania/status/1885925196650963331

  • Bobby Marks: There are major financial implications for Luka Doncic with this trade. He was in line to receive a five-year $345M contract this summer. Doncic is no longer super max eligible.https://xcancel.com/BobbyMarks42/status/1885922284071702954

  • Tim McMahon: "I believe that defense wins championships,” Mavs GM Nico Harrison told ESPN regarding his motivation to trade Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis. “I believe that getting an All-Defensive center and an All-NBA player with a defensive mindset gives us a better chance. We’re built to win now and in the future."https://xcancel.com/espn_macmahon/status/1885922718333181992

  • Tim McMahon: The Mavs had major concerns about moving forward with Luka Doncic due to his constant conditioning issues and the looming commitment of another supermax contract extension this summer, sources told ESPN.https://xcancel.com/espn_macmahon/status/1885924010669621271

Like the nets got 5 firsts for bridges, the jazz got 5 for Gobert, how is this the best you got for Luka? NO ONE KNEW HE WAS EVEN AVAILABLE

Everything I’m seeing right now is saying he didn’t ask out either, I’m not even a Mavs fan and it feels like a gut punch lol

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Didn’t Cuban sell recently or did I imagine that?

Must have some blackmail on him then since this is the worst trade I’ve seen in my life

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 weeks ago (5 children)

Like even if he wanted out and would only resign with the Lakers how do you not get a better return?

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 16 points 3 weeks ago (21 children)

No idea why the Mavs do this, was Luka unhappy?

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

At least 25 and let us organize them. Hopefully it’s not pay walled, kind of a dumb thing to put behind a paywall but who knows.

The movement bridge buff is my favorite one to get, sucks once it wears off tho lol

Good tip for vindicta, will remember when I try to play her!

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 weeks ago

This is an auto buy for me on every hero even Ivy who starts with and extra one, and I’m pretty decent at movement.

Not surprised they nerfed the fire rate buff on it recently it’s still great, think I’d still use it with no fire rate buff at all lol
