Don't take away his agency by way of religion. He knew exactly what he was doing.

Yup, I've been seeing more and more people straight use AI results to support their arguments.

I was talking about the divorce as a whole. It would have some very serious ramifications. Moving wouldn't be easy, because you'd be doing so under a whole different set of circumstances than moving abroad for studying or for a job. It's not just you, it's everyone who wants to live a "liberal democracy" who would want to move and it wouldn't be easy at all, imo.

Historically mass exodus aren't fun.

We are absolutely living in a cyberpunk dystopia. This particular meme is poorly put together to represent that because it chooses to focus on judgement of how others live their lives or choose to enjoy said life rather..

Fair enough. I suppose I understand this meme to be a broader commentary about cyberpunk dystopia than specifically ridiculing someone's life style choices.

Segregation in terms of wealth (these days)

but from what I've heard, suburbs in america became popular in the 50s because a lot of white people wanted to live in white-only places. (Will have to cite a source later)

I don't think it's meaningless to be trepidatious over a future most of the people on this planet will never be able to have (affordable housing, a stress free retirement).

And I dunno but calling it "a matter of perspective" feels like a lie, or a compromise, especially when knowing that we are slowly destroying our world and making everyone's lives horrible so that a few people can enjoy themselves.

We shouldn't fighting to live in such a dystopia.

I don't want to say that their goals are wrong and mine are better, everyone has their bandwidth, but I just disagree that it is a matter of perspective. (Upon looking at it again, I think we both just understand this meme differently)

I am so fucking tired of living in this world.

You can look at a turd from a different angle and it will look like a brownie.

A comfortable home or segregationist suburban dystopia?

Family vacations or inefficient car based infrastructure fucking up the planet?

Fun hobbies or mindless consumerism being sold to you as a hobby?

Living to a ripe old age or being relegated to for profit nursing homes to count your dying days?

Which seems more apparent?

The GenP subreddit got banned on Reddit. We can only take a guess as to why(I seriously don't know, please let me know if you do).

But regardless, it brings up a serious question. How will big corpos and nations force their control on lemmy and other fediverse communities?

Places like reddit, twitter, instagram and even "fediverse" bluesky cave to demands from corporates and countries all the time. But what happens when the real fediverse platforms get attention?

How will they ban, sabotage and coerce instances and communities to cave into demands?

I know lemmy and other fediverse platforms are still very small right now, but I believe it's only time before the sabotage begins. Instagram stepping into the territory tells you how scared zuck already is.

And How will we get around this?

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to ask. I really like voyager, it makes accessing lemmy very easy and aesthetic for someone who's new to fediverse.

There's a small feature I think would greatly enhance the experience:

Two wide buttons - (save) & (share), just below the image, whenever a user clicks on the image.

Like how bluesky does it. (I can't upload a reference image as I am still new to lemmy)

It would make things so much more intuitive and I love to download images. It's one thing I didn't like about reddit - Saving images was a pain in the ass.
