It's pretty normal for language to vary between generations, it's just that we all communicate via text a lot more now, so differences in punctuation usage have become noticeable parts within those language variations

it's not a grammar competition.

While I agree that there's less of an expectation of grammar, informal text communication has definitely developed grammar of its own. OP mentioned full stops, for example — ending a message with one is a tone marker now

Excuse you, this isn't unconventional at all, 69,000,000 Brits do it every morning

Gallium? It's solid at room temperature, but your own body heat will melt it, so you lie down on a solid block of metal and then slowly sink into a melting puddle in the middle of it. It's non-toxic and six times denser than water so you'd be really floaty on it too

!politics@lemmy.world had UniversalMonk in the run up to the American election. They have about 15 alts, posted an average of 16 articles a day just on the main account, and would pointedly refuse to engage with any discussion of the actual content of the article in the comments. They were banned for "Indiscriminate posting of duplicate stories from different sources to flood the channel."

That's not this community, of course, but I think it is proof enough that it's not an unreasonable concern for OP to have

Holding elections during martial law is against the Ukrainian constitution, and it was like that long before Zelenskyy was voted in

It's honestly amazing how much stuff they put in it that the vast majority of players will just never see. Going by steam achievements, most players don't make it even halfway through the main path, and the main path is less than half of the game's biomes

There might not be a cure. I know that I don't expect mine to ever really go away. But even when it's still present, the degree to which you have it under control is a broad spectrum.

And yes, it is much more difficult for those of us with serious depression to maintain a healthy level of self-esteem, but it is not impossible by any means

I'm not experienced enough with dating to even know how to avoid codependence

Experience with dating is not how you avoid it. Self-esteem and being comfortable without a relationship are. That's why the advice is to get those things sorted first.

I agree, I doubt the AfD base would care. However, I would like them to reach the conclusion of "Don't vote AfD" within the next two days even if they wouldn't have done so on the basis of other corruption
