There's never any trains SMH
Maybe next time though
I'd love to be able to just go to my post and see a list of the people who have shared my stuff and links to their shared posts.
For example: 3 people share one of my posts, on the post I click the spot thatvsays how many times it's been shared, and I can see the posts they made by sharing mine.
I hope that makes sense? IDK if it did I'm tired AF right now lol
Exactly!
Compartmentalizing your online presence is always a good thing.
On the browser version of Pixelfed there's a setting you can get to from your profile page that let's you enable "reblogs" being visible in your homefeed. (It's kinda vague on what that means though)
I couldn't find it on the official mobile app.
Honestly the official mobile app I can't see comments on my posts either.
I'd say the official mobile app needs a little TLC.
When they are accurately called "text generators" and not "AI"
But at this point so many people have been misled by it that it may not be possible to educate those that have already been misled just stop others from being misled.
The beauty of this kind of platform (Lemmy) is you can leave one instance that has affiliations you don't like and move to one that has affiliations you like.
For example I have alts on other instances that aren't federated the same so particular instances I see as quite problematic I never see their comments or posts. It makes the whole thing more pleasant.
There's also having multiple accounts that are focused on different things, like one that's focused on memes, one that's focused on news, one that's focused on hobby things, so that you can keep them all separated and isolated from each other. That way, if the account you have for news is going to be particularly in a knee-deep-of-dread situation (like political content) afterwards you can switch to your hobby account and not see that content until you're ready again.
IMO it's good for your mental health as you can take breaks from the dread.
Exactly
As the meme goes, "The worst person you know made a great point." Except it's that they did something good.
Doesn't change them being a shitty person of course but at least they did something good.
Fuck PewDiePie, but at least this is likely to grow the community a lot soon.
That makes sense, it's been updated a lot since that previous statement.
It's a fairly common (though fairly uncommon nowadays) trope from older video games (often RPGs) where you end up in a game over state and then you'd be asked if you want to continue (from your last save usually)
Beyond reporting and blocking I'll usually take a break or depending on the amount of toxic people I may just leave the platform altogether.
If you find yourself surrounded by assholes it may best just to leave and find a new spot.
Thanks for the translation
I'd say putting it as "Even the most mundane locations will become targets" is a useful way of explaining how war affects things is useful for some people in helping them grasp the horrors of war.
Some people seem to think that only military targets get impacted. But the fact is war is worse than Hell, because at least in Hell you can be confident that no one innocent is in it.
