Was 2001 a bad year because of 9/11?

I’ve done it a bunch of times myself… working with millions and billions of something is kind of in another realm that is difficult for us to conceptualize… trillions and quadrillions even more so…

Like when you look at the graphs that show what a billion dollars really is… a millionaire is closer to the wealth of a vagrant bum than he is to a billionaire to a very large degree….

I think the 4 wheeler would get shredded and the hubcaps would fall off before the straps break

And if the wheel rotates slowly the hooks might actually pop off I guess I dunno

While I don’t particularly care about this specific thing, I have read articles and what not suggesting that the times we live in…. In the future, are going to be similar to the dark ages because there won’t be much data that survives from all of these companies deleting everything…

MySpace is another example… geocities before it…. We have paper zines that were printed in small quantities from before the internet was around, but stuff on the internet just disappears…

I think that’s why they even started the internet archive.

I work a dangerous job. When I see super confident people I refuse to work with them (edit: I am super skeptical, there are folks who know what they are doing but I wouldn’t call that exuding confidence). I have learned over the years that confidence is fake as fuck, and usually correlates with incompetence and ignorance (when you don’t know what the heck you are doing you can be unaware of the risk involved)…

There are people who know what they know and know what they don’t know, but it doesn’t come across in the same way as someone who exudes confidence.

I despise confidence lol…

Can’t you just vpn to another vpn ?

I’m not an expert on internet security but I do know there is no way in hell to legislate around blocking internet. Even China’s great firewall isn’t working.

I guess by passing legislation like this you get most people to be compliant, but this is about pirates, who were already actively non compliant in the first place.

The folks who pirate the content are literally going to have to click one extra button or something like that to work around the vpns trying to block stuff…

Meant to post it below, so wrong comment, but it was sarcastic and incorrect intentionally. The US economy is not the same as a household economy, nor is it the same as the state or city economy. State and local governments have to stay balanced, unlike the federal government which prints money.

I think we are in agreement on this

A million million is an order of magnitude more than that.

1,000,000 x 1,000,000 =1,000,000,000,000

(1,000,000,000) is a billion for comparison)

The number x 400 would be like 400 trillion which I think is more than the gdp of the entire world.

I think you are wrong here dude

Nah see, it only causes inflation when we help Americans with their student loans, or raise unemployment benefits and other social programs.

But when we bail out banks with hundreds of billions of dollars it doesn’t cause inflation at all…
