For me? Yeah 25 miles is a bit much depending on how regular that commute is. Once a week, maybe. Once a day, like a job? 5 miles tops is my limit. But I've heard of people doing 20-25 mile work commutes before.

Mechanical work comes pretty easy to me. I have no doubt I can fix virtually anything on my bike, short of things that require welding (we might see about that someday too...).

But cars mechanical work? Tried it some times. Frustrating as hell, don't even want to touch it. I hate everything about cars, including the way they're built.

Bicyclists live for hills. 😈

Bikes are only cheap if you rarely use them, or are just starting out. Spend enough time on them and you will start looking at all the gear, components, and upgrades that can improve your quality of life. There is definitely a point where insurance becomes necessary, but luckily even bike insurance is much less expensive than auto insurance.

"Since then, Elon Musk has had no part in PayPal’s ownership. However, he does still hold a sizeable amount of stock in the company. He has sold off a large portion of it over the years, but as of 2021 he still owns over $10 billion of PayPal stock."

That doesn't surprize me in the least. I try to commute on bike wherever feasible, but these days I almost entirely stay off roads. Biking has taught me that 99% of people do not deserve their license.

I love bicycling, and used to commute on bike almost exclusively. But I don't do it so much anymore because I've had too many close calls.

This is the thing making me lean more toward leaving than trying to change things. Even if Trump were magically impeached today, and our election system were left as near-intact as it is, somebody just like him could be just as likely to be elected in the next cycle. And odds are he's going to pull off rigging the system to make sure that happens by then.

I think that on a long term scale, to get at the root, something needs to be done about the media machine behind him. Culture eats policy for breakfast.

I think that everyone who is in a position to stop driving should do so, and everyone else should reduce as much as possible. There could be a no-drive Sunday (assuming that's the day the least amount of people have to drive to work). Electric cars are still unaffordable for most of us, but everyone buying bikes in a short span of time could send a message.

Trump can't "drill baby drill" if demand plummets.

Doesn't Elon Musk still benefit directly from Ebay?

Yup, I've seen coworkers do similar - and never be corrected for it.

It's not like knowing about clandestine methods of sharing info are going to matter any time soon, right? And definitely do not spend any time studying related material.

Way, way too many websites. I have to research all of them just to use one? I have choice paralysis! The corporations are right, I shouldn't be trusted to make decisions for myself, and the internet should be like cable.

My picks:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Final Fantasy
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • Jazz Jackrabbit
  • Lost Vikings
  • Earthworm Jim
  • This X-Men game.

Hypothetically it would make the concept of "voting with your wallet" a real possibility. The biggest flaw I can see is that records of costs would likely see much more fraud, which would require more monitoring and enforcement.

A lot of people accuse vegan communities of being echochambers. There's good reason for vegan communities to be insular, if for no other reason than because there are so few of us.

But I want this to be a space where everyone feels comfortable to ask questions and have discussions. It's my hope to make a space where these contentious issues can be talked about in civil and fair ways.

And let everyone sort posts by emoji count.
