I solved this problem by just adding any game I want to my wishlist instead of my backlog and then wait until there is a big discount (50% or more) on the game...

[–] Zzombiee2361@lemmy.world 23 points 2 years ago

Then it's already an old game. I WANT A NEW GAME

[–] Dax87@forum.stellarcastle.net 5 points 2 years ago

I do the same but don't go by percentages. I have 2 thresholds:

  • <$10 if it's a game I know I'll like
  • <$5 if it's a game I'm somewhat interested in

Ya know what

I want a new game

[–] darkstar@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

Now that I think about it, me too

[–] Lore@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Remnant 2! \o/

[–] kratoz29@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

And there's me who used to buy PC games even when I'm a subtle console gamer (and I have a Mac from 2014).

[–] darkstar@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Same. Haven't had a pc in years. Continue to add to my steam library

[–] kratoz29@lemmy.world -1 points 2 years ago

I don't know why stopped doing that, I don't recall prices to rise as much like console games to be a reason to stop my behavior, but I for sure got a lot of games for free from Epic lol.

Then the new game sits in your library unplayed until it becomes an old game and the cycle continues.

proceeds to buy old game on sale

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This is accurate. I have several games that I have never even played. I'm dumb.

[–] Lore@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Which games are you yet to play?

[–] jet@hackertalks.com 3 points 2 years ago

I'm paying money today for the option of playing this game in the future when I have some free time. Insidious steam sale cycle.

[–] Poob@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 years ago

In my case, I want a new old game

[–] Araozu@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

There're many games I want to play,

But dota 2 says no, so...

[–] Dindonmasker@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yep i got 3 new VR games today. I already had plenty to play XD

Have you tried JKXR? It's the best old new classic PC game for VR I played so far.

And it costs almost nothing.

[–] Dindonmasker@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I heard very good things about it but i haven't tried it yet. I'll add it to the games i need to try!

[–] squaresinger@feddit.de 1 points 2 years ago

Easily the best VR Star Wars game.

We read from the left to right in English.

We also read top to bottom

We read whichever direction the text flows in Intelligent.

I tried to be good and play a couple of free games from Epic that I never tried / abandoned. One, the jump button was seemingly irreversably linked to the dodge button (Pine), the other immediately crashed after a minute of play, reminding me why I uninstalled it.

Borderlands 3 was heavily discounted to £8, a fair compromise, I felt!

[–] gary_host_laptop@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

I honestly been buying old games lately just out of fear of shitty companies removing it from the store rather than stuff I would really like to play now. Not that those games are bad and I dont' want to play them, but I don't want to only play 20 year old games.

[–] haohao@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

So what new(or old) games should I buy?
