How disappointing, they made this interesting new tech and all they can think to use it for is punching and stabbing πŸ˜‘

How about a tickling game or something fun?

Or reverse twister where you have to stretch to touch yourself in different spots?

Who tf wants to get punched and stabbed??

[–] redcalcium@c.calciumlabs.com 39 points 2 years ago

I'm sure those enterprising game devs on steam will publish a whole bunch of hentai games that works with the suit as soon as the suit released.

[–] yote_zip@pawb.social 52 points 2 years ago

I need to be stabbed by the OWO suit

[–] Ath47@lemmy.world 35 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The shirt probably won't sell many units, but just wait until they release the pants.

[–] WEAPONX@lemmy.world 24 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Assassin's Creed with stakes. When you die on highest difficulty setting you die irl.

[–] hsr@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 2 years ago

Desynchronized

notices your haptic feedback shirt OWO what's this

There's no way on earth that a haptic feedback shirt made by a company called OWO wasn't intended to be marketed at furries in VRchat lmao

[–] SouthernCanadian@sh.itjust.works 16 points 2 years ago (2 children)

This game really makes you feel like you're being stabbed with a knife.

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

The realism’s off the charts! It’s horrible! I’ve already preordered!

[–] Frog-Brawler@kbin.social 15 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

If you’re into the feeling of getting punched or stabbed, why not try just getting into a street fight? You will save money, and it would be super realistic.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour is everywhere, if you're brave enough.

[–] MeatPilot@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Will this fit comfortably over moobs?

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

Far more than comfortably my friend

[–] Linkyu@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago

I've tried a haptic vest back in the late aughts. Tested it with CS:S if I recall correctly. It was fun until the point blank shotgun blast. Worth a try for sure, but I personally wouldn't use it more than once.

Out of all the haptic options, this is definitely one of the more gimmicky ones.

Everyday we get a little closer to Ready Player One

On a scale of 1-to-Sad, how disappointed with this product were you?

[–] HipX@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago
[–] BubbZ@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 years ago

Friendly reminder that Ubisoft horribly exploits their workforce. Fuck'em

[–] Copernican@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I was talking to my friend who got headphones with haptic feedback. He told me it was the most annoying thing in the world and turned it off.

[–] dudewitbow@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago

Ill accept the buttpunchers seat haptics, or haptics on the table, but on the head? Very terrible idea.

[–] Chadus_Maximus@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 years ago

Jesus Christ. Were those the Skullcandy crushers?

[–] BassTurd@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The first LAN I ever went to was around 2009. BFG graphics card were still a thing and I think the 780 was king. I had purchased maybe Battlefield 2 to play there. One if the vendors had a suit that did this for their game back then. This is the first time if seen anything like it since then. I'm thinking that most people don't want to spend money on something like this based on my experiences.

[–] Nepenthe@kbin.social 6 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Inclined to agree. It seems more like a gimmick than quality of life. Only a select portion of the market would spend any money at all for the privilege of feeling someone punch and stab them, and unlike rooftop sword fights and time powers, it's available for free without looking like a dweeb.

It’s effective you’ll get better at defense.

[–] miketunes_@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Not the upcoming vr game though.

[–] MaShinKotoKai@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Doesn't tell a cost or a release date for the tech

[–] thepianistfroggollum@lemmynsfw.com 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

If you have to ask you can't afford it.

Yeah, but when will I not be able to buy it?

[–] tonytins@pawb.social 5 points 2 years ago

Correction: *Assassin’s Creed haptic feedback shirt will let players OwO.

[–] trainline@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Wow this is so cool! No idea this existed!

[–] Backspacecentury@kbin.social 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

We all know where this tech is going.

Only a matter of time until we finally get that PH haptic feedback we’ve always wanted.

[–] Rayspekt@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

Marilyn Monroe-Bot incoming next

[–] Logicgizmo@lemmings.world 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Wonder what the price tag on this ?

[–] BlackRose@slrpnk.net 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] wanderingmagus@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

That's... actually not as expensive as I was expecting.

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago

Probably a laser printed flexible silicone sheet with low-bond adhesive for clean removal.

[–] WaterBottleOnAShelf@lemmy.nz 3 points 2 years ago

There's a few different tech solutions coming out and already out for this type of thing in the VR community. The most popular one I know of is the bHaptics Tactsuit.

[–] onichama@feddit.de 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yoooo I want this!! I haven't been keeping up with the AC series though...

[–] Transcendant@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

They're pretty massive now. Opinions seem quite mixed on the latest (Valhalla), I didn't enjoy it much or even complete it. Origins / Odyssey were imo excellent though and definitely worth a look, considering you can prob grab a key fairly cheap for those two.
