UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The U.N. chief warned Israel that the United Nations has “credible information” of sexual violence and other violations by Israeli forces against detained Palestinians, which Israel’s U.N. ambassador dismissed as “baseless accusations.”

Do they think nobody remembers when they had politicians standing up in public and protesters trying to force their way onto a military base not only acknowledging tte sexual sbuse of Palestinian prisoners, but declaring that the soldiers somehow had the right to sexually abuse them?

I remember protests outside torture camps for "the right to rape " Palestinian hostages. https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/video/newsfeed/2024/8/13/israeli-protesters-rally-for-the-right-to-rape-prisoners

There was a guy who led a gang rape and then went on a tour of Israeli television talk shows to brag about it.

The policy of rape and sexual abuse has been going on at least since the government of Ariel Sharon, if not to the time of the Nakba. The victims include women, men and children.

I really appreciate the work that AP news does. Good communication and reliable reporting.

I wish, in my heart of hearts, they would link the primary sources when they are online and publicly available. As far as I can tell, UN documentation on these abuses are mostly covered here: https://docs.un.org/en/A/HRC/59/26 (And committee page more broadly is here: https://www.ohchr.org/en/hr-bodies/hrc/co-israel/index , I think Israel is responding to their more recent report, or something near it.)

(I'm not terribly well informed, do let me know of better sources.)

If Isreal denies something it can be assumed to be true.
So, that was easy. What's the next step, UN? Hopefully more than a strongly worded email?
