If someone can get the video of this, it'll be amazing

[–] SassyRamen@lemmy.world 30 points 5 days ago (1 children)

You can find the quote around the 24 minute and 25 second mark Lois and Clark: The new Adventures of Superman

I did a lot of digging to find this!

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

thank you! that's a clear jab at reagan; it's interesting that they were so direct about it back then.

No no no, you don't understand, the politician on the TV was librul

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago (2 children)

i know the first scene is true... but the second one? they really had a politician say they want to make the country "great again"?

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Pols have been saying that, in various forms, since Reagan.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

this is not a various form; it's a quote. it was Reagan's slogan and mango reused it because he can't come up with anything original. i just wanted to know if they referenced and skewered Reagan that directly

from another article, in which John Leguizamo and Margaret Cho rip on Cain:

Cain is also a longtime supporter of President Trump. "I love President Trump. I've been friends with him forever," the actor told Variety last month. “Trump is actually one of the most empathetic, wonderful, generous people you'll ever meet."

It's official, this dude is a fucking moron and a sociopath

[–] Oyml77@lemmy.world 21 points 5 days ago

I wonder if he's fucked children with Trump and Epstein and is in the files too.

[–] lechekaflan@lemmy.world 18 points 4 days ago

Ok so he made himself Homelander.

No need to limit this to the past tense. Present and future belong here as well.

Lol I guess he didn't invest properly when he was still relevant....like 20 years ago?!

[–] Late2TheParty@lemmy.world 67 points 5 days ago (4 children)

You wanna hear something funny?

It was actually, like, 30 years ago! I feel old AF! Hahahahahah

[–] AJ1@lemmy.ca 39 points 5 days ago (1 children)

dean cain is 60 now. I feel like that stupidass superman show he was in was just cancelled a few years ago. man, time sure flies when you're clinically depressed

[–] radix@lemmy.world 11 points 5 days ago (2 children)

It's no coincidence this happened just days after ICE dropped all age requirements. Racist old man begs to join the gestapo, and the other racists in charge are all too willing to oblige.

I was going to say 30, but doesn't feel like the 90's was that long ago....oh, wait. Ugh.

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 days ago

Yeah there's a category on a streaming service I use for 25 year old movies. I saw Fight Club was in that category. "Huh, they put it in the wrong category... wait... well shit!"

"My acting gig hasn't been great lately so I figured my only option was to fight for a convicted felon and alleged child rapist. A man's gotta have a vision afterall."

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 45 points 5 days ago

These don't look like the Epstein/Trump files at all.

[–] Plurrbear@lemmy.world 36 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Who?! Stop giving this horrible actor press, no one believes him to be “Superman”, bye bye douche!

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 20 points 5 days ago (1 children)

teri hatcher carried that show so hard. even as a kid i hated him but enjoyed the scenes when they were together because she just makes things feel natural.

and of course she became huge and started in a much bigger show while he was forgotten until literally 4 seconds ago when people started reporting on his racism. failed artist comes out as right wing cunt; who could've seen this coming‽

Kevin Sorbo all over again. the only difference is i haven't heard hatcher shit on him publicly and repeatedly. gods bless the warrior princess.

He's no Christopher Reeves, and he's certainly no George Reeves. He doesn't have the gravitas of Cavill or the balls of Cage. That makes him like, 4th, 5th best Superman at best right? and that's without rewatching anything.

He was a TV Superman right, not a movie one?

Wasn't he second-billed to Terri Hatcher in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman?

[–] 13igTyme@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

If we count the animated shows and movies plus the comics as some older ones are stand alone. He's probably ranked 800 or so.

What a fucking hero.

I have to assume that in addition to being a bigot, he was reckless with his television money and has no other job skills. This is pretty much perfect for him. Maybe he can use his laser eyes to protect the border or something.

The only franchises yet to be rebooted from the Twentieth century are Back To The Future and the Nuremberg Trials.

Yeah and half white. So probably has that white imposter syndrome, or whatever it’s called, that many hapas have. So they try to prove extra hard that they white which often means becoming full tilt racist. Like in my country the Netherlands two party leaders of far right parties have Indonesian heritage.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago

It's not like Japanese people are super progressive, Japanese culture is ridiculously conservative; they just wield so much soft power that no one cares. If you read in the news that people in Oman were working in standards they have in japan, and treating women culturally the way they do in japan (christmas cake, etc) , you'd think that place sucked. But because they make sushi and anime, no one cares.

[–] fibojoly@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 days ago

Amazingly you can be non white and a racist.

[–] popekingjoe@lemmy.world 17 points 5 days ago

"Superman ain't saving shit!" -Eminem, Superman (2002-2003)

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 10 points 4 days ago

Man, john mulhaney's joke about him being in a police lineup makes a lot more sense now

[–] Zier@fedia.io 14 points 5 days ago

Dean Cain to reboot new series with a twist, "Stupidman", about a new ICE agent becoming a villain in his senior years. Airs Wednesdays at 2 am on Fox News.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 11 points 5 days ago

a maga influencer promoting/recruiting for the ICE, i doubt he himself is actually going out to on raids.

[–] purplerabbit@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Well. I hope nothing bad happens to him, then... it would be such a shame, y'know?

Not beating the "Superman is a cop" accusations.

[–] Susaga@sh.itjust.works 13 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

He isn't. Superman is the ultimate firefighter, saving as many lives from disaster as possible. Cain is not Superman, he just wore a costume.

[–] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 5 days ago

John Shea needs to become lex luthor again to oppose this and expose Cain.

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Superman is literally an illegal alien. If you ever needed proof that there's an official IQ cap for these sorts of government jobs, here you go.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Next he'll be mad that Clark Kent is a journalist.
