It's been funny watching the likes of Stone, Parker, and Jillette slowly come to terms with the reality that most of their enlightened centrist freethinker brosephs were just waiting for a chance to be the boot.

We’re legalizing comedy again

They just need one catchy song that mocks trump for it to be perfect.

I can imagine every single public appearance he makes being dogged by someone loudly playing it on their phone.

One can dream.

In the style of Macho Man, we could go with TACO TACO MAN

I vote for Tim Minchins "Fuck the Motherfucker" with very minor changes.

Still as appropriate as ever.

They are good at mocking people but this season has absolutely no plot in the episodes.

Back in 2016 the final episode was called "The end of serialisation" because the election of Trump (the first time) had fucked all their plans for the season.

[–] Visstix@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh yeah that definitely fucked their plans. But I am not even talking about a season long plot, just the stories in the episodes itself have no point to it. It just ends.

I've seen a few people say this weeks ending was abrupt. For me, I didn't see it that way.

The plot was Mr Mackey's journey.

Highly condensed version: Whilst counselling Clyde for his behaviour, Mr Mackey is fired. He joins ICE through desperation. Working there he does awful things but gets rewarded with a trip to mar-a-lago. When there he sees he is working for a literal Satan lover. That's when it all hits home, and he then discovers Clyde is in the same situation as him, doing awful things because he's desperate. Mackey rescues Clyde and they escape together with Dora the Explorer. End of episode, but Trump and his friends continue to party on.

There was a plot, with sides of puppy killing and fantasy island.

I think they're in a tight spot. With South Park plots, usually there's a neat bow to tie it all up. And when they do social commentary or political criticism (except for that one bad season), they can just mock whoever it is and go back to normal life at the end. But since the current state of the US is pretty exceptional, and it seems to be in free fall, there is no real way to end political episodes. The people they're mocking can't be portrayed to change, grow, die or become irrelevant, so there's only so much they can do.

much like the current administration and republicans, perhaps the joke is that they "lost the plot"

We need to see his face gradually get bigger. And fuck couches obviously.

[–] wewbull@feddit.uk 2 points 2 days ago

The couches were already fucked in Mar-a-lago.

Loved the “Fantasy Island” spoof with JD-Tattoo yelling “The plane! The plane!”
