I listened to "Crisis? What crisis?" from Supertramp for the first time today. Amazing album. My favorite track is "A soapbox opera"
Casual Conversation
Share a story, ask a question, or start a conversation about (almost) anything you desire. Maybe you'll make some friends in the process.
RULES
- Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
- Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
- Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
- Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
- Keep it clean and SFW
- No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

I am in a discovery mood since I started my library from scratch. I am listening to whatever listenbrainz and spotify tell me. Spotify for some reason does zero personalisation in its discovery playlist.
Stuff I have newly discovered and liked are -
- abcdefu - GAYLE
- Cinderella's dead - EMELINE
- Middle of the night - Elley Duhé
Middle of the night - Elley Duhé
I am now a big fan of this song.
SHE DON'T WANNA STRIP NO MORE, DON'T WANNA HIT THAT POLE 🎶
I saw a band recommended on the obscure music community called Seven Impale... And I've been listening to them almost non-stop this weekend.
It's prog rock/jazz fusion with a nice brass section, and I love it. Only ~600 monthly listeners on Spotify somehow.
Kind of reminds me of a mix of The Samuel Jackson Five (not the Jackson Five) and King Crimson.
If anyone else has any obscure recommendations for heavy music with brass/saxaphone, I'm basically collecting it at this point.
You seem to be quite into music, would you be interested in being responsible of this weekly post?
Basically, it's just setting it up in Piefed using the built in "Repeat" feature at the end of the post creation form. You can later edit the scheduled post in "Account - Scheduled posts"
Oh, yeah, that might be fun!
I can totally take this over. I will pretty much always have something weird and new I've been listening to, especially since I recently dropped Spotify and have been doing some deep p2p diving.
Edit: I set up a recurring post for next Monday :)
Great, thank you !
