I want my day mildly ruined, not completely ruined. Please remember to refrain from reposting old content. If you post a post from reddit it is good practice to include a link and credit the OP. I'm not about stealing content!
It's just good to get something in this website for casual viewing whilst refreshing original content is added overtime.

Don't feed the trolls, and they won't give you drama.
It's not just trolling and drama though. I just don't feel like ceding the narrative space to whoever can pull off the most clever ruse. Like, the truth is important. I know hoping for the internet to be reasonable and trusted is hopeless, but it just bugs me to see people deliberately spinning up this (very effective) total alternate reality about something that matters, on purpose, and having other people buy into it. To this very slight extent, I'm infuriated by it.

Eh, don't worry. People like this fight each other at least as much as outsiders. They'll undo themselves before they can do any real damage.

I wouldn't take it personally, Lemmy has a number of people who do dumb shit and make provocative accusations trying to stir up drama. Especially around Israel, there seems to be this phenomenon where some people get locked into this simple good vs evil thinking that motivates a lot of shitty behavior.

You are pretty much completely correct, though. It is (or should be) only mildly infuriating.
Nobody else can make you look like an asshole. That's something only you yourself can achieve.
Sounds like something an asshole would say IMHO.
Oh, I'm definitely an asshole. But that doesn't make what I say untrue. If they feel like they look like an asshole, it's probably because of something they said, not whatever other people are saying about them.
