I went on a date with someone of asian descent. She said she wanted to make sure I wasn't like the other white guys seeking a stereotypical obedient / silent partner. I told her that I was only interested in dating someone who would challenge me and push back when she disagreed, else what was the point. We got along great after that.

I can't imagine having such a small ego that being told "no" challenged my manhood. It must suck to be so fragile.

They're also expected to work full time now.

I'm suspect of any person who wants a spouse that doesn't fit the OP's description. You don't want a wife, you want a thing. You want a tool that will cook for you and suck your dick.

As a 35-year old virgin dude (maybe, I am a shitty person, IDK), I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. Sure I might be an incel, but I don't want to be a type of person, who intentionally or unintentionally limits anyone's freedoms to feel superior.

[–] EmptySlime@lemmy.blahaj.zone 17 points 17 hours ago

Shitty people don't tend to genuinely question whether or not they're shitty. You may be "involuntarily celibate," but you're not an "Incel" in the way most people online mean. Those people generally hate women and blame them for their loneliness. You not wanting to be the kind of person that drags others down to feel superior already makes you a much better person than that.

Hell yeah, I'm raising my daughter to question everyone, especially me. She has a brain and my only demand of her is that she uses it.

I will not burden her with the same self loathing my wife grew up with.

BTW I feel this fits here.

Savage Daughters

You go, parent! I don't have kids, but that's the way I would raise them if I did. I tell my nephews (and the kids I work with) to please correct me if I'm wrong, because "even adults are wrong sometimes." I make it a point that they know that nobody is perfect and nobody knows everything, but everybody can learn and grow from mistakes. Including grown ups.

Authority has always attempted to discourage me from calling a spade a spade. As a not-yet-diagnosed autistic girl in the 90s, trying to make sense of things that didn't fit together got me into a lot of trouble. Asking logical questions led to being told "don't talk back" or being called a "little smartass." (Joke's on them, I always took that term as a compliment. One time when my mom said it to me, I replied, "It's better than being a dumbass." Her response? "Go to your room.")

This post is salve for my eyes after seeing the post on shower thoughts, about Epstein. It made me want to leave lemmy.

[–] outhouseperilous@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Link? I'm a black-pill junkie.

[–] LavaPlanet@sh.itjust.works 8 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

Oh, it's a post on lemmy shower thoughts, lamenting that if women were believed, we wouldn't even need the Epstein files. The comments are vile. It's making me solidify on never dating men. I wish I were gay. Sorry I'm not sure how to post links, if this doesn't work. https://sh.itjust.works/post/42742787

wish i were gay

There's still cute they/them's out there. I dunno what makes you straight and what makes you not gay, but there's probably somebody out there who appeals to your particular blend of preferences.

And for some people sexual orientation is malleable. If you're lucky.

In societies that are used to obedience that is truly a defiance. As it should be.

I don't have children myself, but I hope my niece grows up into a strong, smart, independent and capable person. God knows we need as many of those as possible.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 8 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

word.

I'd love to see why someone downvoted this - they're just against women being strong, smart independent and capable? how does that hurt you?

chuds.

[–] EnsignWashout@startrek.website 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Could just be a misclick. There are some weird and/or pathetic folks around here, but there's also just many with huge thumbs.

My estimate of the average "missed the upvote button and didn't notice" is maybe one in 40.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago

could be.

of course, there are chuds everywhere, and they downvote shit all the time too.

[–] rockerface@lemmy.cafe 5 points 20 hours ago

Maybe someone just doesn't like the flag in my username. Doesn't make it better, but at least it's a type of person I've dealt with before.
