ill cut this short with some bittersweetness. the world is ending.... for humanity. our time is soon to be up. climate change and all the fallout from it will inevitably kill most species on the planet by the end of this century, humans are guaranteed to be an extinct species a mere 75 years from now (or at least shrink to numbers small enough that we could never hope to repopulate the planet, these will be the rich assholes that eat each other in their bunkers and space stations well before the climate would ever accept us again on the surface) and there is literally nothing that can stop it. it will get progressivly worse and worse year over year. the most compassionate act you could have for the wisps in the void that could have been a child is to not bring them into this one. but for the ones that are here, perhaps you can set up a full lifetime for them. maybe they will get to watch the final sunset themselves. a once per species event.

id like to say we could save ourselves, but we cant. there is literally zero hope in this fact. and once you accept that, you realize one of two things. "nothing matters!?!?!?!" and "nothing matters!!!!!!!!"

personally ive taken great refuge in the idea.
