The grades one pisses me off.
I've seen so many people become disillusioned with university because their professors were bad and the grading was absolutely inconsistent. To say it's that simple is a gut punch to them and it drives me insane.

Grades as a judgement metric is outdated as fuck and no one wants to admit it. The goal should be to learn, not be judged. If you get something wrong, you should be able to correct it until you understand it. Passing a class should be connected to learning the material, not memorizing for a few tests coreectly.
That requires the teacher actually know what they’re talking about. Which would make them extremely qualified, meaning they would have to be paid well. It’s working as intended. School is meant to create robots that clock in on time.
Modern educational practices have been moving toward skill-based metrics, as in "you should be able to achieve this standard" in order to pass a class (and gets scored on a rubric that reflects skills, rather than some arbitrary "minus 0.5 points for spelling"). As always however, what is best for students is often at odds with what's achievable in the way schools are designed and funded in a society.
Trying to get my insurance license, I have learn a shit turn of martial so I can at least get a 70 on a test. That all they care about. On top of that once your license they don't care what your score is. Lady teaching this course said that she knew a lady failed that test 16 times before passing.
But also 15% to 20% of what your tested on and is the hardest to learn is commercial. And 99% of what you learn won't be relevant. My former boss at State Farm said that to me. Says we don't do things the way you will be taught. But couldn't tesch me their way until I was license.
A lot of factors of one’s success are totally out of their control too. Also, I don’t think their success is really something a kid should be worried about manifesting yet
Kids, just so you're sure, this is a shitpost and you are NOT responsible for your parents' divorce.
The only reason they increasingly shouted at you in the run up to the divorce was that their marriage was falling apart and divorce is one of the most stressful things that ever happens to people.
I have seen a divorce caused by the presence of a kid.
Coworker and her husband adopted a teenager who had issues. He started physically assaulting my coworker and she didn't feel safe in the house and wanted the kid gone. Husband said they'd made a promise to care for and love him. In the end, he chose the kid over his wife and they ended up divorced.
Also - I first heard this story from her when she had a breakdown about it on my first day at the job when I went to ask for the key to the supply closet.
I always found it funny in the Between Two Ferns bloops when Zach asks that to Brie:
That's a top notch clip, thank you.
I'm sure there are some kids who hate a parent and play the one against them.
Having kids can be stressful, but if you don't play a largely united front and instead allow the kids to play manipulative games against your partner, you don't communicate, you take sides and turn on each other, then it's because one or both of you is snide and used the kids to undermine the other person and the relationship.
It's still not the kid's fault if they were brought up to tolerate and play emotional games against family members. Kids start off life completely self absorbed and have to be taught to be kind, share, think about other people's feelings and prioritise relationships over things. No toddler knows this. All functioning adults do.

Having kids myself and listening to them describe their fellow students’ situations at home, or even how we observe acquaintance’s kids act and how it mirrors parental behaviors, you can bet your ass that they learn from how their parents are acting and what they’re allowed to get away with.

This is me and my wife.

This is my brother-in-law and his wife.
Not sure which way round you mean that. I hope the whole family has more harmony and happiness than just now, though.
True. But.
Kids put a lot of stress on parents relationships.
I love how they are all hung well above her eyeline, implying all her problems are the fault of someone much taller. 🤣
Oh is this a valid excuse? Asking for my five foot tall slightly older friend.
As someone who is five five I can tell you it most certainly is. I'm just a little guy.
But, but, my parents aren't divorced!
why are you slacking?
millennials killing the divorce market smh
And whose fault is that?
Not. Yet.
Ooooh, about that
Mommy and daddy wouldn’t argue so much if you weren’t such a little shit.
I'm sure arguing with my ex about my little shit kids. Every summer my wife and I have to teach them basic shit like "please" and "thank you". Their mother thinks manners are for hoity-toity people. No lie. She made fun of me for basic manners.
These fucking animals are 10 and 12 and still chunk food all over the floor when they eat. "Fuck does your mother do?!" "I dunno. She cleans it up."
And now we take them back to momma this weekend, just when they start acting decently.
Last year they started to learn to swim! On their last day here. Mother is afraid of water and intends to protect them from drowning by instilling fear of water in them.
Oh hey look it's capitalism
I was capitalism this whole time?
yeah dude and what's your problem??
i can't help myself
smh
Are these mirrors or pieces of rope?
Yes
WTF .. that's So. Not. Cool.
I know right. Causing her parents to divorce, what a bad kid
Gotta be fake, right? This is beyond.
Yeah this is fake af lol.
I’ve had shit principals; this would be immediate local news + time for unemployment.
It’s just funny, and inspiring as I despair at the fact that I might actually have to face a year of this to eat lol
My tits? Is... Is that who did it?
What, cheap alcohol?

^ didn't read the fourth mirror
I didn't even read the first one
Reading is difficult.
I love that the girl had to stand there for the pic like she couldn't read it from across the room.
