I first heared about CoMaps last week and instantly switched from OrganicMaps :) My question is: How often will CoMaps update the map data from OSM?

I think there are plans to add a setting for custom map source servers. This would also allow the app to get rid of fdroids "dependant on centralized infrastructure" anti feature flag.

With organic it was per app update so monthly basically, but i would also like it if it were closer to weekly maybe. I dont know how much effort it is to compile the files or if it could be more or less automated.

If I recall, in OM repositories there are the scripts to generate mwm files, but the developers said it takes a long time, hence they deliver the update once per month roughly, I guess it take several days if not weeks to process the entire planet.osm

Iirc it took OM 3days, but on CMs temporary hardware it takes 10 days.
